Why does every little step in this process feel eternal? U_U

Fiance submitted the DS-160 today and emailed me and himself the confirmation page. It's been like an hour and neither of us have received it. I thought it would be immediate. *sigh*

Anybody know how long it might take!

We did the same thing last night and got the email right away. Not sure why yours is taking so long??? Strange

Analisa,

My fiance completed the DS-160 and emailed the confirmation page to himself and to me on Wednesday...neither of us has received it (it's Saturday now). I wonder if there is an issue with the system?? For those who haven't yet filled out the form--make sure you print AND save the page!!

Oh no :/ I feel like there must be something wrong. Chuck said they got there's right away. I wonder what we can do now? </3

Go back on and resend to yourselves. Blessings. Can't wait till we can get to this point. Haha

I can't. When I go in it only lets me get as far as the "Sign" page and I don't want to (re) sign it. He can access it from his computer but doesn't have a printer. And he already tried resending it.

Anyway! You can start filling out your DS-160 since you have your case number, no?

Well ours still hasn't been touched. I will be calling the CSC on Monday and giving someone a piece of my mind. I know they won't care one bit, but it will make me feel better. Thought about contacting my state senator as well.

On a side note, I have followed the USCIS Facebook page. They had a "customer service day" a few days back for one whole hour, on Twitter. That's beyond lame. But someone posted in that thread that they have been waiting for 45 WEEKS (!!) for their NOA2! His senator has been involved on 3 seperate occasions and USCIS hasn't lifted a finger, or even helped that couple. I replied to that post, and I am guessing the clowns at USCIS didn't like whatI replied with, and it got deleted. The level of incompetence for that particular situation is just staggering. And it sucks, as citizens, taxpayers & petitioners that they don't care about customer service in the slightest.

Hey Domina, I know yours will get touched this week. From what I saw on playing the case numbers today, there were only few cases left of I-129F waiting to be touched. A lot has received RFE's though.. And I've also seen RFE response was already received but still wasn't reviewed. Maybe they'd finish the "case received" status first before reviewing those on RFE responses. Just guessing though

I am the Beneficiary

Anyway! You can start filling out your DS-160 since you have your case number, no?

If you have submitted your DS-160 less than 30 days, go back to the "Apply for a Nonimmigrant Visa" page of the State Department website. Click the tab for “Retrieve an Application.” You will be asked to enter your application ID number. Next, the system will ask whether you want to go to the confirmation page or create a new application. Select create a new application, and your whole application will appear, except the part about your travel plans to the United States. At that point, you can edit and update the information and submit it once again. You will be given a new confirmation and bar code.

OR

You can reprint the confirmation page of an application that has already been submitted. In order to do so, go into the Consular Electronic Application Center website and select the Embassy or Consulate at which you are applying. Hit “Option C-Retrieve Application” on the Getting Started page and enter your application ID number. From there you will be able to view and print your confirmation page.

When submitting documents via the internet, always take a screen shot of any confirmation page. If given a chance to save your document, do so. If given the opportunity to email, do so. The last thing I want to say is create a depository where each of you can see and few saved documents. See my suggestions on what to do here in the TIP blue box.

D-n-D --- You have just started processing and you have hit the smallest of hic-ups and you are ready to call the Army, Navy and Air Force in to attack. Why? Because your application has not been touched while others have. Do you know that in just one year alone and in one visa category (Immigrant Visas Issued) for FY 2014 over 372,000 visa's were approved not to mention the number that were disallowed. Just how many more in the other visa category's and you are looking at millions of applications to process yearly. And you are one of them and I ask myself who he that they think they require special treatment?

There comes a time in the processing of each of the steps to a visa that you need to apply a little more pressure, but you're only one month into this and you want to "burn" the building down.

This is a marathon and not a race. Remember that and you will save your sanity, your hair and possibly your relationship.

Have a little more patience and don't compare your journey to others as there are many items in one's history that needs to be vetted in this process. Yours is going to be different from mine and from others. No two are the same.

If you have specific questions along your journey, I'd be happy to help. You can start a personal conversation here on VJ and I will help you. Other help is available here and with others. Also, I have a website, though it is geared for those processing through the Philippines, there is a lot that is the same when filling out forms.

Thank you. The second option is what I had done and tried earlier but the option to see the confirmation page wasn't popping up. It would just take me to the application. Now it says it was submitted. Maybe it just took a while to process?

Anywho, I emailed it again and we still haven't received it but that's okay since I can't print it. Thank you!

Those are some true words of wisdom. Whenever I get frustrated I remember that this process is a privilege and not a right. Persons over by TSC have been waiting months (some up to a year) so I'm grateful for the fact that CSC is significantly shorter. I think with this process you definitely need patience. Try not to allow this process to consume your life, concentrate on the things that made you happy before these papers were filed.

While waiting on our NOA2 I found myself checking the forums and the app everyday and getting frustrated when I saw case numbers after me getting through. My lovely fiance suggested that I delete the app and stay off the forum to clear my head and focus on other things. The day after I did that we got our NOA2 notification. I truly believe that it was a sign from God telling me to focus on my relationship and other things in my life that make me happy :-)
