Ok i'm a little bit frustrated. I want my fiance to go ahead and fill out the DS160, sign up for ustraveldocs.com to pay the visa fee and schedule his medical and interview but we haven't received the email from the consulate yet (packet 3) with all the instructions so he doesn't want to do so until we have that to make sure nothing has changed or we miss anything. I understand his concern but I am just so ready for that part to be done...Just ranting.

I have copies of a photo we used for tourist visa application back in June. Can we use that for the DS-160, or should she go and have a new photo taken? It is okay for me to fill out the DS-160 for her and send her the confirmation page right? She had a hard time with the tourist visa application and would prefer I fill this out for her.

I would think as long as the photo is recent it would be fine. To me June is pretty recent. As for the DS-160, I was reading up on it and what I read was that she can have help filling it out but "legally" she has to electronically sign it herself. It's just a matter of clicking a button but it says the applicant has to do it. I also understand it can filled out and saved as you go along. So you could complete it for her and she could go in and electronically sign it and print the confirmation page. Or you could just do it all and send her the confirmation. But that would not be "legal".

I know that is about as clear as mud but it's all I got. Lol

Wow we just receive the hard copy of our NOA2 and pleas my question is the expiring date of the NOA2 does it mean I have to do my interview before that date or what ??

So, yes that's correct. But you can ask for an extension to your embassy.

Hello everyone!

I wanna update you guys!

The speed of the whole thing is crazy! I got my case number 2 days ago (2 weeks after my noa2) and today my application has been received by the consulate in Italy and the website says "ready"! OMG! I didn't expect this to be so fast!

Are you concerned about your noa2 expiring before entering the US? All of our noa2s should expire around february.. will you be asking for it to be extended or are you relying on your visa validity? I don't know what to do

Does it matter what date the noa2 expire?

Is the importent date not the "Issue Date" vias?

Visa fee is $265 US. It will most likely have to be paid in your local currency at the current exchange rate. Everyone pays the visa fee. It's the fee for your DS-160 which is your visa application.

Okay, new question. I need to send in a request for extension of our petition. I know I need to mail a letter to the U.S. Embassy Manila stating that we are both single and legally able to marry still as well as that we fully intent to get married within 90 days of her arrival in the U.S. What I'm confused about is the address I should be mailing to. I have this link here:

Noa2 will be extended up to a year by your Embassy.

You have 1 year from approval to process your visa. Your petition will be extended automatically, in three month increments, till you have exhausted your year then you will have to reapply. You can send by email a request to extend but it's not necessary. If you have any questions about any part of the process you can use my website for the processing through Manila where I outline all the "gotchas" saving you time and the possibility of receiving a 221 (g). Chuck explains it nicely. You can fill out everything and then save it and give her the information to access and have her double check your work and she is the one who must submit the DS-160 not you. That's the legal part of this. What you decided to do is up to you.

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. Did you include him by mistake as a K-2 on the 129F and paid his fees? If so that is why. Otherwise you need to be on the phone to get this cleared up as he doesn't need a visa to travel to the USA from out of the country.

Any Sept 29 NOA1 that haven't receive approval yet? I was in the October forum thinking my NOA1 was Oct 1 but that's just when I got the notification. This is so frustrating how approvals for mid October have already taken place and I'm here like just playing the waiting game :/ congrats to everyone who is continuing a great process!
