Hey Domina, I know yours will get touched this week. From what I saw on playing the case numbers today, there were only few cases left of I-129F waiting to be touched. A lot has received RFE's though.. And I've also seen RFE response was already received but still wasn't reviewed. Maybe they'd finish the "case received" status first before reviewing those on RFE responses. Just guessing though

OHH, I see your NOA1 is exactly around same time as mine. I see you sent your stuff in a week earlier though. So yes we hopefully should progress along same timeline!

It's not really a week though, we sent our I-129F on Friday (9/18) and received a notification Tuesday (9/22) the following week..

I only read it through some comments on a thread here on VJ regarding the RFE because of the missing letter of intent to marry from the beneficiary. Don't know if it's okay though since the guide here on VJ suggested that letters should be two (1 from the petitioner and the beneficiary). Did you already sent your fiance a copy of it though?

My gather has advised RFE letter has been received ... I shall be Fi Di g out later to fay what in God's name it's for! Wish me luck....

it may say you cannot get through due to high volume of calls.... keep trying.... when u get through hit 1 for English then 5 for an operator... then you wait on hold for a bit.

Best time to call is first thing in the morning. 7est is when they open.. I called at 8est this morning and had to call three times before I got through.

Also, is it just me or does working for USCIS/NVC sound like a great idea? I'd LOVE to see behind the scenes with these places.

Don't be it takes up to 4 and more weeks, my NOA2 was Oct16, called yesterday NVC and still nothing

I've seen where it is taking about 20 days to get case numbers from NVC but I've see at least 2 where it was faster. About 2 weeks. The one I saw today has an NOA2 date of 10/19. Just seems strange especially since yours is the 16th.

It doesn't really work in chronological order.. The same thing as receiving the NOA2 from NOA1..

And it really sucks the way they do that ?

Just want to say thank you to everyone for being so understanding and supportive. I joined several facebook groups seeking help there as well, and I wasn't welcomes so warmly by all. Many people criticized me for not having more than enough income on my own before petitioning my fiancee. Yes, it would be much better if I was not in school and working full time, however, neither my fiancee or I want to wait another 3 years while I finish school and settle into my new job. With that said, I haven't been irresponsible with this planning either. I am well aware of what I am getting into and am blessed to have such a wonderful family that will stand by us help her non only financially while I do my student teaching, but will also be there for her to support her transition to the new life here. They actually are fine with her not working right away and prefer it like this because then she has time to not be stressed about a job and become more overwhelmed than she needs to be. So once again, I just want to say thanks to everyone, even the veterans on this site, for not making judgments about me, the kind of person I am, and the situation I am in, and instead, having good faith and providing as much knowledge and emotional support as they can impart, because, let's face it, everyone here has been through this or is going through this, and we all need that extra pat on the shoulder to let us know things will be okay. Thanks everyone!

receipt number or the invoice number? (If invoice -- call NVC, they will tell you)

Thanks...the NVC gave me the case number...on the DS form, its asks for the invoice number from the NVC...I guess I need to call back...ah the joys of this process...so much fun

Ok so quick question and confirmation: I'm reading the USTravedocs website as it lists everything by country which is very helpful since each consulate has their own way of doing things.

It says once approved the I-129f is valid for 4 months: so if I'm calculating correctly our petition would be valid until Feb 31 (Since we received our NOA2 on Oct 31).

Does this mean that I must complete everything and do the interview by this time? Or does it mean I must arrive in the US by this time?

I'm looking to arrive in the US around April as I'm a teacher and our school year finishes in March. I don't want to leave before because I want to complete the school term with my students so they can transition smoothly into the next school year.

So should we request another 4 month extension to prolong the application?

I know you have 6 months to enter the US after you get your visa. I was wondering as well about the 4 months in which the I129 is valid...
