Congrats SweetJules about the super fast interview date! I'm so excited for you!! :)

Thank you so much!!! *_* I know, i couldn't believe it. Usually Italian embassy takes 1 month and a half to give you the interview (saw it in different timelines here on the community website). Just 2 weeks, it is incredible!

Still cannot believe it!!

My fiancee is traveling to Beirut tomorrow to pick up packet3. She is then having her medical done before heading back home. Already have all the required paperwork, So we plan on calling the Embassy right after the medical to schedule an interview !! praying

Congrats to all those hearing good news and best wishes to all those with 'minor' setbacks

Please can you explain to me what is packet 3 ???

Hey there! I have just finished filling it. Its huge, but nothing scary, just simple questions about you, address, work, education, convictions, etc.

Just a lot of questions, mostly yes or no.

You can do it even now and save for later. And you need a photo as well to complete it.

My petition has finally arrived at my embassy yesterday evening! Now I will wait for their letter to schedule the interview ;)

Good luck all xxx

Oh, the 160 form online can be filled out no and saved? If you don't have your NOA2, can you still fill it out, or do you need to enter that in?

Is it the beneficiary who fills it out?

Sept 9 2016: AOS mailed (485, 131, 765)

Sept 19th : Received at lockbox [Day 0]

Sept 27th : Text message notification from USCIS & Fingerprint Fee received [Day 8]

October 3rd : NOA1 hardcopy for all 3 forms [Day 14]

October 6th : Biometrics letter received [Day 17]

October 20th: Biometrics appointment completed [Day 31]

November 30th: Forms 131 and 765 approved [Day 72]

Yeah I already have an idea.. Been seeing a lot of RFE cases here on VJ because of the missing letter of intent to marry from the beneficiary. I didn't know by the time our petition was sent that both letter was needed. When I signed up here on VJ and read all about it, I was already speculating we'll get an RFE because of that but also hoping that it will pass their attention.

I ALSO did not realize that was needed until after I had sent my packet in. I got an RFE and am suspecting it is that. I am **hoping** that is all to be honest, because it's a quick fix.

Interestingly, my friend sent her info in this summer and also did not have that letter, but she got approved! I guess the various case workers consider/catch different things.

Thanks for your reply! Our timelines are very similar! What did you mean by "others I should be able to fill out" what other forms besdies the checklist items and the DS-160 or are there more forms? I'm confused.

OK, so heres the deal for us Montreal consulate goers.....

Get your consulate number from the NVC... you can then track it. it will say 'Ready' when it has gotten to the consulate. There will be two update dates. After the second update on "Ready' status that means the consulate has processed it and you may now e-mail your package 3 to Montreal. You do NOT need to wait for your physical package 3 which may or may not ever come in the mail. It's only two pages which looks like you have already looked at. The documents you more than likely need to have are the following:

passport valid for 6 months after entry date

birth cert

police cert (which u can get online for 20 bucks if ur in the Toronto area)

evidence of petitioners domicile in the states (rental agreement and whatnot)

Affidavit of support (Form I-134) with supporting documents

Evidence of relationship

2 photographs (youll need more for the medical as well)

letter of intent to marry signed within 30 days

Form DS-160

now.... there are other forms which can be filled out which are not on this list but you should mainly follow the package three list.... there will be more on package 4!! (which is what i was referring to)

the moment you e-mail them package three you will get an e-mail back within 24-48 hours with your package 4. fast right? then we can book our interview..... unfortunately they are now into February for interview times!! So hopefully we will get to the consulate asap.

All of my information was gathered from a girl from this site who literally just went through all of this a month ago. She is now in the states and doing well and now married as of last weekend :) If you need any more info I'll be happy to help

The form DS160 can only be filled out if you have your consulate case number and invoice number which you can get from the NVC.

Oh we're almost on the same timeline yeyyy :) I'm not alone with this RFE thing going on.. Let me know when you're fiance receive it in the mail or when you're about to send your response.. I wanted to know how long they review the case again after receiving our response.

That's really sad to know that case workers just pick randomly who they will give this RFE thing.. I've read some post here on VJ though that one letter is okay as long as both the petitioner and beneficiary have signed it..

So I called the NVC today, got through after about 15 mins of being on hold. I figured id give them at least two weeks to process my case (got noa2 on Oct 19) and they had already received it as of Oct 31 and assigned a case number by monday Nov 2. The lady i spoke to was very nice and super helpful, I thanked her a lot and told her I hoped she could give more good news to people today.

Now to track my number and see it get to the consulate! Hopefully more people get good news today :):joy::joy::joy:

Ya! that surprised me too. Take a look at the package 3 from the Montreal Consulate.

http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-MTL.pdf

It explains everything. You only have to e-mail them a few things.

The issue with the Montreal consulate is that they WILL NOT take phone calls. E-mail only. so if you have questions e-mail them. They have a pretty good turn around time and you should hear back within a day or two.

What number did your dial for the NVC??

Timeline

Oh we're almost on the same timeline yeyyy :) I'm not alone with this RFE thing going on.. Let me know when you're fiance receive it in the mail or when you're about to send your response.. I wanted to know how long they review the case again after receiving our response.

That's really sad to know that case workers just pick randomly who they will give this RFE thing.. I've read some post here on VJ though that one letter is okay as long as both the petitioner and beneficiary have signed it..

Yes, I will surely keep you posted. You are a over a week ahead of me and should go quicker. Should being the operative world lol. As we are all learning, it's a mystery! Please keep me posted as to your progress as well.

I never heard that 2 could sign! Good to know for future applicants! Let's keep our fingers crossed. Like someone else said. An RFE sucks but at least we know our case has been touched!

At least yours has been looked at. Sorry for the RFE though.

Domina, how is your case going? Have you heard back since NOA1 yet?
