Starting to get a little frustrated. I contacted the embassy in Manila in regards to financial support documents, and they so kindly told me to check out their website for more information. This does not help me.

There are 3 forms, the I-134, I-864, and I-864a. I do not make enough income to pass 100% of the poverty level, let alone 125%. My mom is going to co-sponsor with me, however if I only submit an I-134 form with my information on it, we will for sure get denied because they will be concerned about her becoming a public charge. What am I supposed to submit for her to take to the interview so that she has the appropriate evidence to prove that she will be well taken care of here? I don't know and cannot find the answers. Everything just says submit the I-134. I think I should be filling out the I-864 and my mom filling out the i-864a, but I have no idea if that is right and if it will be acceptable for the interviewing agent. What do I do? I really need help here guys!

All I know is that for the K1 it's the I-134 and must surpass at least 100% of the Poverty Guidelines.. Upon AOS it's the I-864 and must surpass at least 125% of the Poverty Guidelines. I-864a on the other hand is for the joint sponsor upon AOS..

Good luck

From my understanding- you and your mom can both fill out the I-134 and submit supporting documentation! And then if the embassy has questions, your fiancé can confirm that you plan to have a joint sponsor and that they have documentation for both!

Greetings Septemberets!

I am in the NOA1 September 25th-ish pools for hard copy (they texted me on 23rd) and it does look like (1) things slowed down the last week of September (2) A noted discrepancy in case progress occurred. At least for CSC. Texas is still slower though, sadly.

Either some case workers are faster than others and/or these case workers really do get to pick which case they want. The only way the latter makes sense is if the arriving I129 packets are placed in one place, NOT organized by exact arrival but perhaps a bin for that day.

Whatever the case, I am only speculating! But I did go ahead and try the trick others shared, of changing the last digits of your tracking number to see how other cases are faring. I went 50 cases behind me and most were for i129. I saw 6 consecutive applications where the 4th one was still not touched but the 5th and 6th were already approved.

Last week I was getting very stressed out but then I realized, that absolutely nothing I do will change the reality of when my case progresses to approval or even an RFE. I have decided to come to the boards less frequently now, only to get good tips and whatnot, and that has helped decrease stress! Of course I am happy for everyone moving along! :joy:

Buuuuuuut, refreshing my case page every hour and checking updates on this page ALL the time only makes the time crawl much slower lol!! :crying:

So for the sake of my sanity, I am taking a break and focusing on my work , my life and preparing documents for future! I recommend the same for others!

Question fellow filers: I know some folks are working on the second round of documents, as visa journey recommends we do upon receipt of NOA1.

Have your beneficiaries or you as the beneficiary already began working on getting all needed police records? I read that it must be current within 1 year of embassy interview. My fiance has one of his cleared police records but it was 3 years ago, so we are working on obtaining another , more updated one from Manchester, where he went to school.

Anyone else working on this and having tips? Is my information correct about 1 year?

The way my NOA2 is dragging, I would hate to get one and it expire, but they say the overall process takes 6-12 months. I am still hopeful I can fall in that time line!

Thanks!

Hi,

Check out this link:

http://mrspresson.com/knowledgebase/us-embassy-manila-philippines-accept-co-sponsors-joint-sponsors-k1-visa-application/

Might be a good read for your case and what you need to do next. =)

Have faith and it will all be ok :)

Okay, well here is my situation.

My total annual income for my last tax return was just under $24,000. The minimum 125% of poverty level for 2 people (my fiancee and I) is $19,912. Soooo, I should be fine to just submit the I-134 by itself right? I guess I'm concerned that when they look at my deposits, they will see mostly smaller deposits of $400 for 2 weeks. If I send in my tax return for 2014 showing that I made nearly $24,000 for the year, are they going to disregard that when they see my bank account deposits and balance for the last year? If they will not consider the co-sponsor, then there is really no point in sending additional documentation for them is there? Just send my I-134 and pray to God that they accept my situation from 2014, even though it is not reflective of my pay history over the last 12 months?

Thank you, your link was very helpful.

Thanks everyone for encouraging and being supportive. I spoke with people on Facebook groups and they tore me apart telling me I was irresponsible in bringing her here if I could not meet the poverty requirements by myself without a co sponsor. If that were the case, then a co sponsor wouldn't even be an option immigration makes available.
