Ok, so I asked this in the scandinavian thread but haven't gotten any real helpful response, I'm going to ask here. How do you know what the next steps are or where to go to do the next steps before you get contacted by the embassy? This confuses me because all I got from the other thread was that "some people just know what they need and do it before they get the notice" which doesn't really help.

Ughhhh Em.. You have no idea how many times I've been checking the app everyday! Been playing with all the case numbers too and their movement have gone really slow..

Hi everyone! I have a question! I got my noa2. I can't leave for the US until August 2016. How can I schedule my interview like in February? If I send all the required documents now, will they schedule the interview automatically after they get the documents or do you get to choose when to have it?

I think when you sand documents that embassy requested they will schedule interview (depends from country to country how much time will take) even then when you got visa, visa is good for 6month

You are getting real close! My fiancé has to go tomorrow to make a correction to his birth certificate, so we will have to see how long that will take to get back before we do his visa application and set up interview and then do medical. In Jamaica you have to go back and get the medical when they tell you to. So much details to keep up with.

Each country is different in how they schedule your interview. Some schedule it for you and tell you when it will be while others give you instructions online and you have to schedule this yourself. One thing though is that you will definitely want to contact your consulate/embassy and have them extend the NOA2's validity because if you cannot come to the US until aug of next year, you won't want to schedule your medical and interview until closer to that time. Otherwise you run the risk of your visa becoming expired before you can even come over and use it.

"Do not send any documents to the Consulate. You will need to bring all your original documents, or certified copies, plus one photocopy of each original document, to the immigrant visa interview." ~ http://italy.usembassy.gov/visa/iv/application.html

You should check further for the US consulate on your area. Good luck

We don't know yet. All it says is we have one and it will be sent in the mail. We are hoping to get it early next week. I have a funny feeling it may be my fiancés divorce decrees because they weren't certified copies?! or maybe the require more information about us meeting online on a dating website. Really no idea. I know I included EVERYTHING they needed, with supplements, so who knows! I'm anxious, I hope it's a quick fix!
