How long till you get your NOA2 depends on many things. From what I've seen here it can range from 2 to 4 weeks. For us, it has been almost 3 weeks since our NOA1 date and nothing yet. Now that you have the NOA1 you can track your case with the USCIS tracking app and on the myUCIS website using the case number on your NOA1. Your NOA1 should say what service center your case was sent to. If it went to California, your case number will start with WAC.

Hope that helps. Good luck and God bless :)

Oh! You can also request electronic notification of your status with the app and website so you don't have to wait on snail mail.

Thank your very much you have really help me God bless u ????????????????????

Hey Jemal deen,

You should fill in your timeline! It will help other members gauge their cases, and will help the website get better statistics for processing times :D

Okay thank you

Ok, I do have one question about the validity date on the NOA2 that I have seen come up here as well a couple times. I'm a bit confused on why it is being said that the NOA2 has to still be valid when you enter the US on the K1 Visa. From everything I've read online about this, the NOA2 validity date is just for the time to get the approved Visa. Once you have the approved K1 Visa, the visa itself is good for up to 6mos which has nothing to do with the NOA2 validity date. So I'm very confused on why this is being referenced as needing to be extended for some when nothing like this is stated on the USCIS website or anywhere else that I have found online. Does anyone have any clarification on this because it seems like we are getting some discrepancies about this.

The reason it's been talked about a lot lately is that another member here got denied entry at POE due to the K-1 NOA2 being out of date.

The immigration officer got it totally wrong, but it still meant she was turned away, and had to go back to the embassy to get her envelope re-sealed and an extension.

So basically, you're right that it's not necessary for your NOA2 to be valid at POE, but there's a tiny chance an ill-informed immigration officer will turn you away because of it.

Exactly as uppercasedee said.

Situations like those, just make me get really mad. I am stressing out a lot for this process, in big part because I have no job so I don't know how to spend the time rather than only waiting...and be apart from my half it is something that I suffer a lot...being in the situation at the POE saying that my NoA2 approval is not valid, and be sent back home I would just die.

Thank God, I really believe we'll be able to be within the 4 months validation (even though it doesn't need to be still valid...but we can never know at this point) :)

Hi friends!

I'm freaking out! My fiance's mom just texted me saying that he's gotten mail from immigration and it was sent from California. We're currently waiting for our NOA2. I checked our status online and nothing has changed - it still says it's our case has been received. Did anyone get a hardcopy of there NOA2 but not have thier online case updated? Could it be an RFE? I'm just confused because nothing has been updated electronically.

So what could this letter be?! We already received our NOA1 hardcopy. He won't be home from work for another 4 long hours. Please help! :)

I havent seen too many (or any as far as i can remember) people saying they got RFE's in this chat. If it was an RFE your status should have changed. Please let us know what the letter was when your fiancee comes home! I am curious as well now too. lol

Just curious, and because it was mentioned above, does anyone know how to extend the NOA2 validity? Is that a call I would have to make to the consulate or to the California Service centre? I believe I will have to extend the validity at least once because I cant move to the States until July. Anyone with any info would be super helpful.

Also, not stressed about getting our NOA2 even though people left right and centre are getting theirs..... it'll come when it comes! I'm very happy for all those who have received their approvals :)

Consulate does that. From what people on this forum say - some consulate extend it automatically, other consulates - you have to ask.

Also got NOA2 hard copy in the mail today :)

Just to make sure..is the number above the beneficiary's name the alien number??

And should we just ignore the fact that it says "You should allow a minimum of 30 days for Department of State processing before contacting the NVC" and call before then?

Today, after a horrible day at jury duty, and no SMS from USCIS, I succumbed to my urge to check on the USCIS website.

NOA2 - APPROVED!!!

I want to tell my fiancé, but she's asleep :(

I checked using the USCIS Case Tracker App this evening at 8:00. No NOA2. Checked again at 10:30... There it is... Case Was Approved. Three words I couldn't wait to see. I called my fiance and woke her up! She was as excited as I was. We're really hoping she and her daughter are here for Christmas. Perfect end to a pretty good day.
