Really starting to wonder why we havent heard from CSC yet. how many of you with a similar NOA1 Date are on here? Am i freaking out way too early?

dont get me wrong i am certainly super happy for everyone who's received their NOA2 already.

Our case Status is still 'case was received'.

thanks guys. :)

Our is also still only case received. I noticed alot have already got their approved and RFE's, but the average wait is still about 6 weeks.

Shouldnt be long, the wait is hard but oh so worth it.

You should get an update pretty soon, I would say by the end of this week.

Your estimated timeframe isn't correct though, you shouldn't have put "transferred to CSC" because there wasn't a real transfer of case.

Transfer means when for example TSC is processing the case and send the petition to CSC for continuing the process, that it didn't happen, because the case has been processing from CSC since the beginning ;)

You should change that, you will see your timeline updating.

Anyways be positive!! :) I send you the best luck! I am sure you will receive an update soon :D

I received the hard copy of our NOA2 in the mail today. Says that it will take 2-4 weeks from receipt for the NVC to process and forward to the appropriate Embassy or Consulate. It also says that the NVC will contact me with the case number and notification that the petition has been forwarded to the Embassy/Consulate. If that is the case, what would be the reason for me calling them every day in a few weeks to get that case number from them? Also, is it okay to wait until it is forwarded to the Embassy to start gathering the financial information? I know things like paycheck stubs need to be very current when received. Unlike most people who are trying to get this done as quickly as possible, we want to try and time things right. I am expecting that we should receive notification that the NVC has forwarded the petition by the end of this month. It would be really great if there i adequate leeway for us to schedule the interview around the first weekend of December as that would be convenient for her to go and do that just prior to returning to work as she will be completing her nursing board exam course and exam in the last week of November. December is good timing because the visa is valid for 6 months and we are planning for her to arrive middle of May so that would have her arriving somewhere around the 5 to 5.5 month mark. I know that is cutting it close, but as long as it is still valid, there shouldn't be an issue. I just need to be sure I get the petition renewed by the end of January and then it will also be valid until end of May, just in time for her to arrive.

That's great news! I see our timeline is similar. I hope to get my hard NOA2 any day. 2-4 weeks till it gets to Embassy is also great news. Thanks for the information.

I agree that there is no need to call NVC for the case number. It does say it would take 2-4 weeks for them to process it and forward to your embassy, so just wait for a month. If nothing heard from them, I would call then.

You will get the e-mail from them first (in about 3 weeks as I can see from the others), giving you the case number and saying they forwarded your petition. Usually it takes about a week after that to reach your embassy and then you will get another e-mail, saying that the fiancee can now schedule the interview.

As soon as you get the case number, you can also go to medical.

As for the financial paperwork, I will prepare it as soon as I get the case number. I think its a good time plus they will be up-to-date.

Hopefully it all will not take too long for all of us!! :)

Thank you! Your response was comforting. I don't want to get in trouble for not being on a particular schedule according to the processing but at the same time, unlike most people, we aren't trying to rush the visa asap. We would like to time it all right so the validity holds through the month of May. We started early expecting an average processing time of 8 months but now it looks like it could be as quick as 5 months time to have a visa in hand.

The NOA2, makes it sound scary but realistically, if we have had the petition approved and we provide all necessary documents for health, financial security, criminal history, etc, then she should not have difficulties going through the interview quickly and being approved forna visa right? Is it incorrect of me to assume that the hardest part of the visa process is really filing and getting approval for the petition?
