Hi timmons....hang in there. My POE is June 1st and I am emotional now. I sold my house in 6 days and instead of being over joyed...i was sad and couldn't figure out why. I think its hard to leave the only life you have ever known even though you know you are going to a great place...you get sentimental.

Much happiness for you awaits...as it does us all

CT

thank you for your reply. it was just a matter of getting on the plane pretty much. after we took of i was finally relieved even if goodbyes suck. ;) thank you for your guy's support.

the only thing that scared me that day where the attacks in brussels, since i was waiting on my connection for 3 hours in amsterdam i was a little nervous.

Hi September Filer Family! I just wanted to share my good news. Our K1 visa interview was in Montreal, Canada this past Wednesday and it was a success!! We are so excited and waiting for the visa to be delivered. :dancing: \

Our wedding date is still set for July 30th. Thank God everything worked out!! It feels so surreal!!

I did fly to Montreal for the interview and like many people, never was asked to come up and talk to the interviewer. But the interviewer did ask my fiance when he last saw me and it helped to say "Today, she is here". Despite my over preparing and printing out the past 2 years of taxes, I managed to FORGET to bring it. I freaked out!! But the agent was satisfied with the W-2 form and it helped that I had supporting affidavit stuff. Honestly, I feel very blessed because the agent could have been difficult and insisted we get taxes as I have read some others dealt with.

Ok so friends, I know this has been asked before and I have seen posts from a few years ago, but does anyone know as of 2016, if there are any issues with planning a honeymoon in the US Virgin Islands WITHOUT advanced parole?

Secondly, does anyone know of anyone who used advanced parole to leave US and settle work/finish schooling after entering with k1 visa/marrying? Or do you HAVE to plan on staying and waiting for work permit/ green card? I totally get that it makes no sense to work hard for K1 and then now request to leave. But we are running into issues with him possibly having to start all over with schooling, vs finishing his credits there and coming here for his next degree.

Help is appreciated!

You should ask that in the threads that have already filed for aos. There are a few in this site that many from this thread are on.

As far as going back for school it would have to be for less than 6 months I believe. He would have to live in the states for more than 6 months of the year.

Good luck!

Thanks! I had to reschedule though... I had issues with my plane ticket. The company I booked couldn't confirm my ticket and I had to wait for my money to get refunded. Now I bought a new ticket for the 27th of april. I totally understand the stress part. I was so worried I wasn't able to fly, im glad I booked a new ticket today. We are gonna do a big marriage and ceremony the first time and then next year when I have my greencard do a ceremony for my family back home. June will be there before you know it :) Goodluck to you too!

Wow...the 27th!! I'm so jealous....I am on my big count down now though....7 weeks today till I go through...giddy up as they say in Kentucky. Or perhaps that was in a movie...either way, I' staring to get excited now, sold the house so all that's left to do is quit my job with good notice, get the dogs vaccinated, get a certificate of emissions for the car, pack, say good-bye to a few and then I'm off to the rest of it. Please let me know if I've missed something. I've never been so happy...happy for you and everyone on her as well!

Many blessings to all...

Chrisete

Thanks dear, I'm super excited. Will be going to Georgia. So any advice from the group would be greatly appreciated???

Will you be in Atlanta? Georgia is a nice state. I used to go all the time because I had family there. Atlanta is a booming city. Tons of traffic though lol. But there are a lot of cool things to do there.
