So went to the Social Security Office this morning and was easy peasy, everything went smoothly and everything was in the system so we should be getting his social security card here within 10-14 days. Another stepping stone down.

I'm just going over my paperwork too to make sure I have everything ready to apply for my SSN. I was just advised that the passport, I-94 and a marriage certificate will work for ID. What did you use for id?

Hey Sugarplease, we had his passport with the k1 visa in it, the printed off i-94 and the english version of his birth certificate. You want to get this done within the 1st week or two of entering the US. You don't need the marriage certificate to get your ssn, just to change your name afterwards. If you are not getting married as soon as you land and are waiting a month or two, you don't want to wait to get your ssn because you won't be able to get added to car insurance, open bank accounts, added to other bills, etc...without that ssn and if you wait to long and you are to close to the expiration date of your i-94 they won't give you one. Which is why you want to do that asap and get it out of the way.

Hey Guys, im leaving this upcoming Tuesday. Got pretty much everything packet and ready to go.

I have been pretty emotional these last couple of days. I'd appreciate if someone else might wanna share how they felt and what their experience was. Dont get me wrong. I am super happy to see my fiance and that we can finally be together and move on with our lives. :) my brain is just going a hundred miles an hour. scared that i might forgot something / what future holds....these thoughts are normal, right?

and to Sugarplease and NandJ i'll be in MD by the End of next Week, near Ocean City to meet up with my Future Employer. I'd love to have a coffee with you guys if you are close by.

ALSO i always tent to forget to say (hope that doesnt seem selfish) Congratulations to all NEW approvals! :)

Hey Guys, im leaving this upcoming Tuesday. Got pretty much everything packet and ready to go.

I have been pretty emotional these last couple of days. I'd appreciate if someone else might wanna share how they felt and what their experience was. Dont get me wrong. I am super happy to see my fiance and that we can finally be together and move on with our lives. :) my brain is just going a hundred miles an hour. scared that i might forgot something / what future holds....these thoughts are normal, right?

and to Sugarplease and NandJ i'll be in MD by the End of next Week, near Ocean City to meet up with my Future Employer. I'd love to have a coffee with you guys if you are close by.

ALSO i always tent to forget to say (hope that doesnt seem selfish) Congratulations to all NEW approvals! :)

I feel the same as you. I won't be leaving for a bit longer but I still have all the same emotions.

I'll be close to hannover. So if ur ever out near Baltimore area let us know. I'm sure things will be tough for the first while.... But if there weren't brave folk like us there wouldn't be any grand adventures. We earned this. Let's make the best of it. If u guys want we can pm each other for a private email address and keep in touch. It'll be nice to have similar people close by.

My fiancee POE was Washington Dulles airport on 03/26/2016 I flew back with her and the immigration officer asked me one question "when is the wedding?" and said welcome! That was it. :dancing:

09-30-2015 I-129F Delivered in Dallas Lockbox
09-30-2015 I-129F NOA1 received in CSC
09-30-2015 Got NOA1 e-notification
10-08-2015 Got NOA1 hard copy
10-27-2015 Got NOA2 e-notification
11-11-2015 Got NOA2 hard copy
11-15-2015 Case received at NVC
02-25-2016 Medical exam
03-14-2016 Consulate Interview. Visa Approved!!!!!!!!!!

03-18-2016 Picked up Visa from DHL

Gm everyone, my visa as been issued on the 14 of March and told by the embassy that it was handed over to DHL on the 24 of March and still I haven't heard anything from DHL up to now.

Would I need to get a tracking number from either the embassy or DHL before its delivered?

Good morning and congrats! Call DHL and insist they look for the visa package. Was it going to Kingston or MoBay? Another had hers going to Kingston for delivery and they overlooked it somehow. I told her to insist on them looking for it and they found it hours later. Give them date when was picked up by them (DHL). Let us know what happens. Blessings.

Hi timmons....hang in there. My POE is June 1st and I am emotional now. I sold my house in 6 days and instead of being over joyed...i was sad and couldn't figure out why. I think its hard to leave the only life you have ever known even though you know you are going to a great place...you get sentimental.

Much happiness for you awaits...as it does us all
