I'm just about ready to schedule her interview. I want send her the money to pay for her visa application fee and get her receipt. I can't remember the correct order for the steps. Do we fill out the application first, and then she goes and pays the fee? Does she only need to receipt to schedule the interview but not to fill out the application? I think they are independent of each other right? So I can begin to fill out her application without the fee payment receipt and then as soon as she has the money she can go and pay the fee? I do know the link to get the visa fee slip. She will have to have it printed off somewhere.

I dont know about your embassy but i know you fill the application first here in Jamaica

You can do either ways.. Fill the DS-160 first or pay the fee, it doesn't matter. And yes you can schedule the interview without filling the DS-160 yet.

Thanks. That's what I thought. Going to send her the money today to pay her application fee. Will start to fill out her application as much as I can this week and then finish up with her and she will have to review and sign it. Then I can get her stuff mailed to her and we can schedule an interview!!!

Good luck and be patient... sometimes they get sent fast, others for no apparent reason take a few weeks. You are almost there!! Even a good chance you'll get an interview date faster than mine (Feb 3) and i got processed a few weeks ago. So keep up with the positive vibes!

You need to go online and print off a receipt for payment. Next she takes it to the bank. Once she has it returned to her from the bank paid then you can check your status to schedule your appointment. Give it about 8-12 hours after you make the payment. Watch out for the "gotchas" when paying your visa fee. You'll find those at my website.

Next after payment is complete your DS-160 and prepare for the medical and CFO. You'll need NBI and CENOMAR that are not older than 6 months at time of the interview. That's listed at the website too.

Hello everyone! :)

My K2 and I got home a couple of hours ago from our interview. Except for the rain that poured very heavily the moment we got in front of the US Embassy, our overall experience was wonderful -- very smooth and easy. Rains are blessings after all. :)

"Everything looks good. Your visa is approved. You may go home and expect your passports in about a week." Those were the sweetest words I heard since the approval of our petition!

Thank you to this group and some of the ppl here who became my VJ buddies along the way. It's a bittersweet feeling to "graduate" from this forum.. But I am mostly happy about how everyone is progressing.

Good luck and I wish everyone an easy and blessed K1 process up to our POEs, weddings, AOS, Naturalization, and happy ever after! :)

We got out of the embassy at about 8:30am. My K2 and I had a celebratory pizza and ice cream before heading home. And I called my fiancé, woke him up to bring him the good news.
