I am finding that my fiance getting the medical booked to be one of the most difficult things right now. OMG, there is only 1 dr. in Norway that does them and he is in Oslo which is 2hrs away from where my Fiance lives. They don't answer the phone at all, it only ever goes to vm, they don't return voicemails either so we have not been able to speak to a person at all. They have responded to emails but it takes them like 2 days to respond and they don't answer the questions you ask. I mean seriously how hard is it to give a list of available dates/times for an appt. when asked, what do you have available for an appt. next week? Answer we got back after 2 days waiting at 4pm his time, we have an appt today at 5pm available....ummmm, hello he's 2 hrs away and you respond 2 days later with that? OMG sooooo frustrating!!

Hi K1 fam! So, I got my NOA2 and am awaiting the hard copy in the mail. Is there anything that I can do right now, that won't be at risk for expiring ?

For example, I am not sure how soon my fiance can do his medical. Do I have to wait for NVC portion?

I know the D160 can be saved as "in progress" but it also expires too, so not sure if it's worth it to start now.

I had gathered more photos and correspondence and things, but don't know if even that will have to be updated closer to interview time.

I will be going to see my fiance for Christmas (yay!) so I want to hand deliver these documents to him

Thanks in advance for answers or referrals to posts that already spoke of this!!

Sounds almost like Germany. We got 6 doctors serving the whole country for this particular process ( only one accepts walk ins) . Does this doctor at least accept walk-ins? I mean what if she'd take the risk of just driving down there really early in the morning...?

Very confused, upset and angry!!! The embassy turned her away for her interview saying they did not have her petition. Our case status said ready as of Nov 27th and today says ready as of Dec 4th. If it is ready, how do they not have her petition in their system yet?? I called NVC and the embassy and they were of no help. All they say is to wait. Wait for a letter from the embassy that everyone who processes through the Philippines says never comes. How in the hell are we supposed to know when she can interview if "Ready" means NOTHING!!!!

Hey timmons, no they don't accept walk-ins, you have to schedule it with them and there is only 1 dr. for Norway so that would be a wasted drive for him (Side Note: I'm the USC and am female, he's the Norwegian and Male, hehe :) . That gave me a good laugh, so thanks).

On an positive, he finally heard back from them and we finally have a date range of availability for either dec. 15th or 16th, he has already sent a response back requesting the 16th since that will work better for him with his work schedule. So hopefully we will get a confirmation back soon that its been scheduled. Fingers crossed. As soon as he gets that he will get on and get his interview scheduled. So we at least have some movement, even if it is slow.

I'm sorry to hear that Chuck, hope everything works out for you. It sounds like the embassy just received it if it just got updated again as ready. I know our petition showed as "ready" the day after it showed as "in transit" and when I tracked it, I knew it hadn't made it to the embassy yet. When it was updated a 2nd time as ready with a new update date, I checked the tracking and that confirmed it was delivered; however, it took a bit before we received the packet 3 email. Once we got that we knew the embassy had it and had processed it so it was really ready for us to take the next steps. We held off jumping the gun and scheduling the medical and interview for this very reason. We didn't want to run into the issue of something like this. Maybe something on greenbaums site for manila specifically has some help.

With hardship comes ease, with hardship comes ease. Keep the faith alive, this is obviously just a small delay it will be resolved. The embassy isn't doing their job right if they don't fustrate us first, it's like part of the process.

Hi Chuck, I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your fiance's interview. :(

Did you get an eligibility letter?

I called the Manila Embassy just 5 minutes ago and they can't also confirm if they have our case, they don't have the tool for it, but as long as you have the eligibility letter you'll be good to go.

Hello my September filers buddies!

First, let me congratulate all those who've moved on to the next step: those who got their NOA2, who got their interview schedules, passed their medical exams, passed their interviews! I am so happy for all of you!!! Well-deserved! :)

I was out for a while because I have been preparing for mine and my K2's medical exam that happened the other day Dec 2, and today. And we're cleared, we passed, yehey!!! I'm so happy!!! :) I was so anxious because though I know we're healthy, I still don't know what these medical ppl can find that can be a hiccup to the medical process. But by God's grace, we passed.

Hi Chuck,

I'm really sorry for what happened to your fiancé. I understand how that can be so frustrating. I know she flew to Manila just for the medical and interview. I was expecting to see a post from you saying she got approved already, not the bad news. I don't know what happened there, or who to blame. If NVC can't help, try phoning the US Embassy. If you were able to see on the DHL tracking page who received and signed it, then maybe you can name drop. The damage has been done though, a day has been wasted.. But this is just a road block, not a dead end. I wish you the best of luck, and please keep us posted.

So I'm prepping all my documents for medical on Monday (ahh!) and apparently I need to bring the letter from the embassy... but my embassy (Montreal) didn't send me one. I have emails from them, will that be okay? Also, what exactly would this letter contain? Help!

The letter is the 'package 4' email they sent you. You also have the sheet from booking your interview that you should have printed to bring to your interview that you can bring to the medical as well. Both of those should be sufficient for the medical. Both of those cover the confirmations they want to see.

No. We don't have the eligibility letter. I guess if they can't confirm they have your case either, then it just takes them time to get them in their system. Yours should have been at the consulate right before mine was. DHL tracking says it was delivered on the 30th. Hopefully we both will get the eligibility letter soon. Praying soon. This whole thing is frustrating. Some people say you don't need the letter and others say you do. Very confusing. The embassy told me it would be emailed so hopefully that comes soon.

I just don't understand why they update the status to ready if it's not ready.

Does your status on CEAC say ready?
