Hey all,

Looking for a little insight. I'm clearly missing something... or else I'm just being impatient.

I've received the NVC case number, beneficiary ID#, and my invoice ID#... So how can I tell if the embassy in Vancouver has received it? Also, what's the average amount of time between the NVC sending it and Vancouver receiving it?

I've also completed the DS-160 (haven't paid the fees... not sure how?). Also was not sure what number they required on that form? So I put the NVC number I received, not the USCIS number.

I'm a little lost guys, and feeling a little defeated right now.

Hopefully someone can shed some light.

Congratulations to everyone who is moving along nicely! :joy::goofy:

Enter your NVC Case #... In transit: left NVC; Ready: should be at Embassy ready for interview. There's another website to pay and register appt. as applies to specific Embassy. Check your Embassy Info page. Don't know it off hand.

Nice with the numbers.

Seems like the I-129´s gets numbers faster then the cr1/ir1.

Sorry if I'm just being dim, but what's the beneficiary ID# and invoice ID#, and where did you get them from?

I've got my NVC case number, they sent a letter to my USC fiance with it, but there were no other numbers on it.

By beneficiary ID - he means an "A-number" (Alien number). It is a unique identifier that USCIS assigned to the beneficiary. It should be listed on NOA2 and it will be printed on the visa(once received). You don't really need it right now, but you will need it once you get to US and start AOS process.

Invoice ID -- is internal NVC payment info. You will not need this either (NVC assigns this to all cases, for K1 cases it is not needed)

From the NVC Guide:

Once a case number is assigned, get that number along with the IIN (Invoice Identification Number) from the operator. If the operator doesn't want to give over the IIN (some operators are finicky), then just call back up later and try again. And don't worry about the BIN (Beneficiary Identification Number) as it's no longer needed. You only need the case number and IIN.

IIN and Case number is what you need to pay fees on there site.

Hi everyone,

We got our Alien # (NOA2) and NVC Case Number (through mail). But I did not get our IIN from NVC. Should I call or email the NVC to get it? Are we going to need it for later?

Thanks :)

You can call NVC if you want to find it out.

I don't remember needing the number, so I would stress over it.

When I called the NVC to see if they had our case, the man I spoke with gave me all those numbers without even being prompted. He just told me to write them all down.

Looks like I'll have to check my NVC number in the CEAC website then and go from there. How long does it usually take for it to register on that website? I tried inputting it a couple days ago and it told me that there is no case with that number. Maybe I'll call the NVC back and see what they have to say.

Thanks for your help all!

If they gave you the numbers - it is in the system.

Call them back and check that you wrote down the correct numbers. (Also when you enter the number on CEAC site - make sure there is no spaces, dashes)

Finally got Case # assigned at nvc. Now waiting for it to be shipped. I assume we can start gathering the 3 documents she'll need to bring to her interview? Police certificate thingy, birth certificate and proof she's single. Does anyone know whether she has to get these notarized in her houku city or where she lives now?
