Im sorry, when you say they mail it do you mean NVC to the petitioner in the US or do you mean the embassy?? Colombian mail system is completely non reliable....thanks!

They will mail the case to the Embassy of your home country. The petionier should get notified via Mail too. ( I guess )

Anyway the NVC says that it could take 2-4 weeks for the embassy to receive it and for you to receive further instructions of your embassy.

It usually takes less than the given info. If you check mine it took like 4 days to be received. Since you said that you cant rely on the columbian postal service ....idk how long it might take.

But dont worry too much. Im pretty sure it gets delivered with priority

Hello all....our case was sent out to the us embassy in Bogota, Colombia on Oct 30th and when i look it up on the webpage the case status says ready for interview, but we habe yet to receive any notification about an interview...would anyone know how long it takes to get an actual notification when case is already in your countries US embassy??? Thanks in advance for any helpful answers...

Also since it said "ready" immediatly i would question it. Because i've read multiple times that theres supposely a glitch in the system. So some people go from -at nvc to -in transit to -ready. Others -at nvc to -ready which could also mean that it

is still in transit. very confusing but would make sense since you postal service isnt the best like you said. maybe check your local forum for more info on that case :) good luck and keep calm :)

1. Wet ink

2. I didn't get an RFE but I would prolly send it in the envelope that they sent so that whoever receives it knows the nature of the envelope.

3. Send what they ask for. If they only asked for the Letter of Intent then that means they're satisfied with everything else. Sending more things just gives them unnecessary stuff to look over. Save the extra evidence for the interview.

Thanks! I will play it safe and avoid complicating things with extra information. I am glad I checked about the wet ink!

Hello everyone!!!

Sorry I haven't post anything for a while because of my work, but I've been following your posts!

First of all, congratulations for all the good news that I've seen so far :joy: (NOA2, NVC, accepted RFE...)!!!!

2 things I want to share today :

- I'm in the US visiting my fiance for a very short week. I was a little bit anxious about coming here because of what might happen at the POE. I've read that some people in the middle of the K1 process (without the actual visa in the passport) got trouble getting in. By the time I took the plane, I had with me the NOA2 and our case was beeing transfered to NVC. To avoid any problems,I had with me a letter from my employee proving that I'm still working, my work contract and paycheck, and my plane tickets for the way back. Good news, I had NO TROUBLE at all. I got in with the ESTA as a 'tourist'. I was honest about my reason to be here (visiting my fiance). They did not mention the K1 process and did not asked for my employee letter or other piece of information whatsoever.

- We received yesterday through mail a letter from NVC! We did not expect anything from them, we were planning to call them today :) So I got my Case Number and the CEAC status is READY as of November 9!!! Can't believe how fast that went!!!! Waiting now for the embassy to email us the next step (that's how they do it in Paris) while I'm filling in the DS-160.

Good day to everyone!!! One day closer to our love ones!!!!!

I called 1-603-334-0700

it may say you cannot get through due to high volume of calls.... keep trying.... when u get through hit 1 for English then 5 for an operator... then you wait on hold for a bit.

Best time to call is first thing in the morning. 7est is when they open.. I called at 8est this morning and had to call three times before I got through.

I called 603-334-0888 just this morning and still they don't have yet our case. ? they said it will take 35 days..it's been 12 days..

Guys, I will be calling NVC from UK - is there a code to go in front (i.e. +44 ) ?

Follow this format: 00 + 1 + 603-334-0700

Are you sure? The wait is an average of 30 minutes, it is going to be a very expensive international phone call. If you have a smart phone, you can download the MagicJack App (free), and it will allow you to call any number in the United States using your mobile data/wifi.

Hope this helps! :)
