Dubai Police certificate is only valid for 3 months. Your Petiotioner will prepare the AOS that can take weeks as weeks as well. NBI clearance takes time. you have to go to the consulate to get the form and go to police station to get your fingerprints then back to consulate then you will have to send your application form to NBI Manila.

I am only waiting for my interview :) and will have my medical soon.

Is your second form DS156K? for mine they ask for DS230

Thank you for telling me that for I am not aware about the time span of each documents, anyway I already have my NBI and the dubai police cert. Will be collected by monday, so we planned to make an appointment on oct. 25(which is our month-anniversary) so that i could have my medical soon while waiting for the AOS to be sent to me on saturday.

You got your files ready? How long would it take for you to receive the AOS via express?

Yes, DS-160 and DS-156k. I thought it would be the same, so I guess not. :)

Goodluck! Heard alot from new approved peeps, to stay calm and the interview will only last for about 5min. Or less.

The embassy asked me to fill up DS230. I'm wondering why yours is different.

Anyway, I suggest you make sure first how long will it take for your sponsor to get all the documents for AOS before you schedule your interview. Sometimes it could take 3 weeks but the courier will only take 3-4 days. In the meantime work on your proof of the relationship. pictures , sms, bbm, whatsapp, emails. as for the medical you need to get it 1 week before your interview as the result will take 2-3 days.

Goodluck to us :)

Hi! yeah its been awhile. I intentionally stop reading visa journey while I was waiting for my interview because every time i log on in here it makes me more nervous of my own interview.

Anyway I just had my interview yesterday and i got approved :)

if you haven't have your interview yet well one tip i can give you is to go to the embassy early. the early you are the early you can leave :)

Just be honest with your answers and everything will be fine. Usually they would ask you from where did you meet your fiance ? when was the last time you saw your fiance and how many times did you meet in person. what does your fiance do for a living. its more on the details about your fiance so you have to review the things she/he wrote on his I-129f documents.

Good luck!

Haha. Good decision.

Wow! Congratulations!

What time does the embassy opens? Do you know?

I am concerned about the "how many times did you meet in person?". How did you answer that? What i mean is did you give a specific number? I have a feeling I can't just say MANY times or is it okay?

I have an appointment on 4th Nov. Hopefully, I could hear this magical word "approved!" Lol.

Thank you for all the tips, ate :)

P.S. Where did you stay in Abu Dhabi? Any suggested hotels?

Thank you and Congratulations once again :)

Hi mitzie,

The embassy opens at 8am but they will start letting the people in by 7:30 because of security procedures. You should go early because people will start arriving as early as 6am. There are 2 lines in there one for Immigrant Visa and the Non Immigrant visa. You take the immigrant visa line. The guards will let the immigrant visa applicants in first.

I arrive at arround 6:30am and I was No. 11 in line. My brother actually drove me to Abu Dhabi. We left Dubai around 4am and stopped at a gas station for breakfast. When we got to the embassy there were already around 15 people in there but most of them are with children applying family immigrant visa.

My initial plan was to check in to the hotel a night before the interview but I changed my mind because its expensive lol. It ranges from AED400-500 per night. And that's the cheapest room so I just opted to ask my brother to go with me and fortunately he was able to take a leave of absence hehehe.

There was a Filipina who had her interview last October 12 and she said she took the bus from Bur Dubai bus station. She said the first trip for Abu Dhabi is 5am and she arrived at the embassy at around 7:30. All immigrant visa applicants have the same interview appointment time which is 8am. So if you want to save money you can take the bus or ask a relative or a friend to drive you there. Otherwise you can check in a hotel.

With regards to your question on how did I answer the question how many times did we meet. I answered twice and the consular officer seemed quite satisfied with my answer. They are going to ask the specific number of times so you cannot answer "many" I think if you met twice that would be enough. If you met only once then I think the consul officer will ask you a few more questions. Actually the interview is very short they will only ask you 3-5 questions. The waiting period is way longer than the interview.

The best of luck to you. Don't worry if your papers are complete you will surely get an approval. Just relax and don't forget to smile when you enter the interview room :)

Hi!

Ooh, okay. Even if I filed non-immigrant I could take the line for Immigrant?

Good thing your brother was with you :)

Yeah, I checked for hotels, but damn they're out of my budget haha. Crazy deal. Oh well, I might take a hotel since that girl you're talking about was arrived 7:30a.m.

Since my fiance is my friend before we became lovers I could include in the question the times like seeing her as my friend, right? I think that's counted.

Anyway, thank you very much for the responses. Really a big help. :)

Goodluck too on your way to the U.S. :)

Even if it says Non immigrant in the DS160 confirmation K1 is actually processed by the embassy as immigrant. So take the immigrant line. I don't think they will care whether you were still friends when you first met with your fiance. Just don't get your dates mixed up because they will ask the dates as to when did you meet. In my case the officer only ask for the year. If the CO ask you when was the relationship started then you should count your meeting from the date you said the relationship started :)

The girl I told you about who took the bus. she got approved too but she said she was in the embassy for 4 hours. Maybe because she arrived at 7:30. As for me I arrived at 6:30. I was in by 8am and was out by 10:30 :) That's about 2 and a half hours.

Good luck to you and don't forget to pray.

Prayer works all the time.
