Hi there,

Does anyone know if a copy the I-130 /I-129f are required to be shown at the interview. What if I don't have them...

ALSO, just verifying cause in the interview letter I received, it states "proof of applicants current legal residence" - does this mean a driver's license or some mail with my address on it ?

There is a forum that lists some of the things you might need. I had my interview on August 25th and they did not ask me for anything but be ready because they might.

I brought

Bank accounts that showed his address

Copy of his passport

Copy of his drivers license

Copy of his car insurance

They did ask for my certified birth certificate (long form) and last years taxes.

They asked me six questions:

Where was I born?

Had I ever been arrested?

Was I ever refused entry to the US?

How did I meet my husband?

When did we meet in person?

What was my wedding date?.......OK so I got my dates confused in all my nervousness!

It took four hours start to finish. Two minutes to give them my paperwork. One minute to take fingerprints.

Five minutes for the "interview" and to retake my fingerprints.

My husband came with me and was allowed up. The guy asked him one question (I can't even remember now what it was). I got there at 9:00 for a 9:30 interview. No one was in line but me. Security was about the same as they are anywhere....slightly bored but fine. There was a "trainee" up there that was being shown what to do by another woman but she just waved her hands in the direction of the middle section and down we sat (for the next four hours). I did see another woman with a book in there but I brought nothing to read, look at or do. Boring!

They sent my passport back in about four days. I went through the border last night and it took about 45 minutes. The guy was someone that I had seen numerous times so felt like we were old "friends"....The only really weird thing was when I referred to my apartment in B.C. as my "home" he got rather indignant and said "where is your home now???!" I had to repeat it was now in Washington State (but yeah) not really my stuff is in my apartment in Vancouver.....

I went back to Vancouver today to get something and the Canadian guy was a real goof to me. "Why did I "hate" Canada?" Why did I leave my own country. Yes, it was weird. Then he asked my husband "where is your gun"....?!

I lived close to the border in Canada and will live close to the border in the US so will go back and forth probably more often then some but still I thought it was a bit weird. I told the border guy "hey I don't hate Canadians...I AM one!"
