Hi my fiancée just finished her interview last 8/24/15. I read some interview experiences and I saw most of them went to the releasing window after talking to the American CO. The American CO told my fiancée she's approved and she can go home so she didn't go to the releasing window. Is that ok or is that bad? For those who just had their interview can you please tell me if you went to the releasing window after the American CO? Thank you.

Yes she should have went to the last window, after the interview you normally sit down and wait for your number to be called again, then at the last window the will verify the delivery instructions and IF anything is required they will notate it there.

Check the CEAC website for status. 2ND it may not hurt to call the embassy.

Thanks Hank, my fiancee is really worried because until now our status at CEAC is still AP and she's been talking to the other K1 beneficiaries that she went with on 8/24 and most of them had their status "ISSUED" before her and even the one's that was interviewed a day or so after her they already had their visa "ISSUED" and she was talking to them as well and most of them didn't go to the releasing window, just like my fiancee they were told they were approved and given a note about updating the delivery method and was told they can go home so they went home without going to the releasing window. I hope nothing is wrong with our case and we are worried why it's taking this long to get our visa when others had it so quick. Again thank you.

Sounds like the embassy modified things, once more, so there is no need for the last window if all is good after the interview with the CO. I would relax and be patient.... the visa will arrive. Everyone goes through AP.

Took us 2 weeks before the visa was delivered.

Yes that's what my fiancee told me, she saw alot of beneficiaries that didn't go to the release booth and the ones that did was given something, it might be case to case depending to the CO but that's what she saw that day and what some of the beneficiaries that she met through SLEC and the interview day that she become friends with told her. Again thanks Hank :)

I am guessing the last window is now for those getting a 221g request for additional documentation... from that aspect be glad you didn't not need to go to the last window.

You mention in one of your posts that you received something from the CO at the end of the interview. Something about going online. Have either of you read what that document said. We all here would like to know. Any chance you can scan and upload a copy of the note here. Be sure to blacken out any personal information.

Yes it's only a paper about how to register/update the delivery method for the visa. Attached is the pic.

It looks like what Hank said is correct. That USEM is not releasing applicants through the last window if only they have to insure the address is correct. So in your case you need to verify your mailing address to insure prompt delivery by 2go. Do that and your good to go.

I did but it brings me to the website where you schedule your interview and I don't see any link or info how to change or update delivery, I know on her appt. she has a 2go pick up already designated.

If you arranged delivery when you signed up you don't need to do anything further except be patient.

Hank's right there is nothing further but, we all have one who worries more than the other so let's give some proof and put this to rest. Go to the website, sign in, and use the tab on the left side that says "Update Profile". Once your on that page check your information and make any changes. If it's fine then leave well enough alone. Show her how to do it I think it will resolve things with her.

Worrying without cause is normal... get use to it. ;) You will have to let it slide to a degree, yet be supportive as well...

  • 2 years later...

Hi, I know this is outdated but I too am a bit worried I left the USEM in a haste lol. The CO said I am approved , informed me visa will take 1 to 2 weeks to issue/deliver, then gave me a paper with the number of the call centre to register my delivery address. I told the CO I already registered online & was about to give her my confirmation transaction then she said to call to verify. Then I thanked her & left.

I  am kinda worried I didnt go to the releasing window but the CO didn't tell me to go to the window.

I don't know if they changed the procedure because we weren't given numbers anymore, no queue numbers on the screen. We were made to line up instead.

So I went to the USEM website & it said "If your visa has been approved, you will be informed how and when your passport and visa will be returned to you.  Carefully review After the Interview on usvisas.state.gov to learn what to do when you receive your visa, entering the United States, paying the USCIS Immigrant Fee, and other important information." then this one:

"For applicants who were refused visa issuance under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) for lack of civil documents from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA, formerly NSO), please follow the instructions below:

After your interview, the PSA Form will be given at the releasing window to those who were refused under 221(g) of the INA for lack of civil documents."

I am just guessing they send applicants to the releasing window if they are u decided?

I am going crazy here lol, for fear I left way too early!
