Anyone else having issues with NVC reviewing documents and DS-260?

Timeline

The NVC is currently a few weeks past the 30 day review estimate for my AOS and IV packet. I called them Wednesday of this week to check on the status of my DS-260 (which is also overdue to be reviewed) and our AOS and IV packets. During the call, the rep sent the DS-260 to a supervisor and gave me a week estimate for it to be reviewed. When asked about my packets/mail, he stated that they went for additional processing and that I should call back today (Friday) to see if it had been done. I called back today to get an update and still nothing has been reviewed. The rep send my packets to a supervisor and stated it can take up to 45 days for them to be reviewed. She also mentioned it typically does not take 45 days but that it could.

A few questions:

What might have caused my documents to go into additional processing?

Has anyone else been having these issues with reviews being overdue?

Has anyone else's cases who've been sent to supervisors taken 45 days? How long did it take yours?

Thanks!

Our case is on day 66 of supervisor review!!!! If you're lucky, you get a good supervisor and you should have a smooth ride. Hopefully you don't get our incompetent supervisor, who apparently takes forever to review cases, is never available to take our call and never calls back...

There does seem to be a longer processing time at NVC at the moment, as I've heard from a lot of other people not being reviewed within the 30 day mark or the 45 day mark for supervisor review.

I know how frustrating it is to be stuck at NVC and not get anywhere, not know what's going on and not be able to talk to the person reviewing your case. Hopefully you hear something real soon.

I'm waiting for a Case Complete as well. My AOS/IV documents have already been reviewed and I'm just waiting for the DS-260 to be reviewed. That was submitted on July 8 so it's been almost two months. I've been on supervisor review since August 14 now.

Hope we all get the CC soon!

I sent my civil documents in April (2015) but didn't hear anything back from the NVC. I received notification that the documents were being reviewed. I never received any indication of incorrect documents sent, which turned out to be the case. Finally, I called in July and discovered that the Department of State needed the Act Inextensa, or long form, for both my wife's birth certificate and our marriage certificate, and to have the documents legalized at the Civil Registry Office. I made another trip to Santo Domingo and got both, and then upon my return to the US, mailed them. Now I am waiting for review of the two documents, hopefully for CC. I was told it will take thirty days. I called today (Tuesday, September 1) and the documents were received. I got a little testy with the representative, but decided to wait until I receive the e-mail from them in a few days for confirmation of receipt before I call back and ask for confirmation that the documents are indeed correct and acceptable. I think I will request a supervisor review. This seems to be the only obstacle left for us. Hopefully resolved soon!

So I was able to talk to a supervisor today and she told me that there's a backlog in reviewing the DS-260 because of the technical difficulties that happened earlier this year and apparently, they're currently reviewing April/May/June. When I told her that I know of people who have submitted DS-260s in August and have already received a CC she said that's not possible since they review in the order they receive them (I don't know what she's talking about here since plenty of VJ members submitted in August and have CCs. This just goes to show you the lack of communication within NVC itself)

She also told me that even as a supervisor, she would not be able to review the DS-260 and there's a specific department that does that. Anyways, she said she would request the department that reviews DS-260s to review mine and I can call back again in a week or two if I don't hear back. I'm hoping having a supervisor request the review will actually push these people to finally get to it.

Update:

Spoke with a rep today to see how everything was going. She stated I still need to give it more time. She agreed this was taking longer than it should and requested that I receive a "status letter". She explained that it shows us what documents are still needed. She said it kind of gives them a "kick in the butt" to look at our stuff. Letter should show up in my email in 14 days.
