I had my interview at Montreal at the end of August. It went exactly like the most recent Consulate reviews have said. The people in my line still had the general admission time of 7:40am so me and my SO got there really early so we could be first. I got number 1 and it went very fast after we finally got inside; I was out before 9am.

They did process the visitor B1/B2 visas first. I don't know what time the K1 filers were finally let inside but it felt like it was probably after 7:40. People were definitely getting turned away for having backpacks and purses and there was no leniency for any of it; go check your bag at Eaton's or bring it back to your hotel and come back before 11am.

I was most nervous handing in all the required documents before the interview but when the actual interview came up I was ready to go. Easy questions and when he got to the more generic ones like have I ever been arrested I knew I was in. I was grinning from there on out.

EDIT: I want to add that if you can make a weekend out of it Montreal's such a fun city to explore. Old Montreal, St. Catherine's Street, the gay district, Chinatown... all fantastic. Me and my SO had a blast; we still talk about it.

My interview is September 14th and this really, really has calmed my nerves.

Thank you so much. Being prepared and being relaxed seem to be the important bits here. :)

Hello guys: I m not a frequent user on the forum as my case moved like a snail since applied in Jan 2012. Now I am waiting for the interview call from the Montreal which expecting the schedule would be at the end October or start of November.

As I am living in Winnipeg, Manitoba therefore I need to plan traveling to Scarborough, Toronto for the medical with Dr. Randall Lee as my family friend lives in Scarborough and then travel to Montreal for Interview.

Please advice me regarding the expected time delays and hindrances.

Thanks alot

That is appalling :(

There must have been quite a few Canadian cases that completed after June 16 that have already scheduled.

If CC really means it is complete and no more work is being done, then what would be the hold up?

Maybe the case manager is irresponsible? Is the file still in NVC?

Welcome to the world of waiting for an interview! My CC is May 12. Still no interview for MTL...

I had my interview in Montreal on August 25. 9:30

So here are the highlights:

I got there on the Alexandre Street side as directed by Saylin.

I arrived at approximately 9:00 am and no one was there. I waited until a woman with a clipboard showed up about five minutes later. She checked my name off.

My husband was with me and was allowed to come in.

The security team were very friendly. I brought nothing with me but my papers, again as directed by Saylin!

We were told to go downstairs and take elevator to 19th floor. No one met us on arrival.

I knew to sit in middle section (its very obvious which one that is)

I waited about 1.5 hours and had a number in my hand but it means nothing (until it meant something right at the end)

They called my number and I went to a wicket. They asked for my long form birth certificate, the passport pictures and the newest tax return and she opened the medical. She shuffled some papers (mine) looking for something then just said "put your hand there for fingerprinting".

(She looked a bit perplexed at her screen....I don't have very readable prints even with digital)

She then told me to "sit down" and wait till number called again.

I waited a further two hours. Numbers came and went in no seeming order. Then they started to seem to be in order for the last two or three. Mine was called.

I walked to the wicket area that I was told to go to thinking that there would be a table or something but again, just a wicket.

My husband came with me.

I was told to read the oath that was taped to the window. I could not find my glasses in my nervousness. The interviewer said "ma'am they are on your head."

They did the fingerprinting again (hmmm...I felt a bit worried)

They asked me six questions:

1. Where were you born?

2. Have you ever been arrested?

3. Have you ever been denied entry into the U.S.?

4. How did you meet your husband?

5. What date did you meet in person?

6. What day did you get married....Ok so I choked on this one due to nervousness. My husband was standing beside me laughed and said the correct date.

The interviewer asked me why I had been paroled into the U.S. I explained that on two occasions they paroled me because I was an intended immigrant and should stay in my own country. He laughed at that and said "ok".

He then said "the hard part is over." He looked through all the paperwork (mine). He said "do you have the divorce decree (my husband's) and I said "yes". I began to look for it. He said "oh thats ok its here in the paperwork, no need to show me."

He took my passport, said they were going to issue me a visa. Then explained how long it would take. He said four days to leave Montreal and then the rest was up to Loomis.

He then said "you have been the easiest "yes" all day.....Not sure why but was just thankful and practically wept at the window....

Loomis sent me an email about four days later that it had been picked up in Montreal. Two days later another one arrived saying it had arrived back to B.C.

I picked it up a day later. Very large packet was with it. The packet clearly says "do NOT open". It is ALL of your paperwork basically. Everything you sent them to NVC.

I went through the border two days ago. It took 45 minutes. The guy was someone we had seen numerous times going through. Very straightforward except when I said something about "home" (I still have my condo in B.C.) and he started saying how my husband's address was my home...etc. etc. I just agreed, I mean the reality is I have not actually moved here yet.

On a side note. I went home (to BC) to pick something up yesterday. The Canadian border guy was quite rude actually. Asking me why I "hated" Canada. Why was I leaving, did I not like Canadians? He then asked my husband "where is your gun?"....To say we were rather startled is an understatement.

Going back into the US the guard looked a bit uncertain with my passport but we just said we were going "home" after picking up some clothing for me.

Hope it helps. I did bring everything and the kitchen sink with me in the way of paperwork but not really anything unusual was asked for. Maybe they could see the 8 inch stack of paperwork I brought "just in case" they asked for something???

I just did my medical this morning with Dr. Lyndon M in Toronto - it was so simple and was a breeze.

My appointment was at 9:45. He was running a little late and I saw him about 10:00. He asked the simple questions : any history of mental illness, what types of medications you take, and history of surgeries or illness.

Paid him $300 cash for the medical and $50 for the courier of my results to my house. He then gave me a paper to take to the lower level of the building where the did an X-ray testing for TB. From there I went across the street to CM labs for my blood work.

From start to finish total was 38 minutes.

I love to hear how everything is moving right along for some people :) My status changed to "Ready" on the CEAC website. My medical results were just delivered this morning and according to the DHL website my file arrived at the consulate in Montreal an hour ago. No co-oincidance the CEAC status changed as my file is now in Canada.

Now I just wait for my interview on September 28th. All the best to everyone who is waiting for an interview and for this who have one this month.

I had my medical exam today with Dr Lyndon. Straight forward.

I forgot passports in the car, receptionist made me run over there to get it before appointment.

He asked few questions, seen my vaccination report. Took rough weight and height of my son.

Asked me to run to lab which is building accross beside TD bank before it closes, and then go to xray in the basement. Both for only me. So my parents took my son directly to the basement to wait there rather than tagging along in the lab.

The lab took a while because people who came after me were seen by doctor first since they didn't had to go back and grab passport.

While since xray lab had already seen my parents waiting for a while, they took me right in and did the xray.

By the way i got a parking on residential street for free. Even though only one hour was allowed. I wasn't ticketed even though i parked for almost 2 hours. But i would have preferred if there was a paid city parking lot when i was looking.

And by the way i thought it was thorough physical with genitals check. But absolutely nothing.
