The CEAC website just changed to "in Transit" finally for my file.

Hi tayjoc, I have a few questions:

1)

How many days after Case Complete did it change to "in transit" ?

About mine: Today my AOS line on CEAC changed from PAID to N/A, general consensus is that this means case complete.

2)

you mentioned in your process log: "4 RFE about the 1-884: 2014/08 to 2015/03"

Can you clarify what you mean by this. Do you mean i-864 ? Do you mean you received 4 checklists about the I-864? Did you receive these checklists all in one letter or 4 separate checklist letters?

Timeline

1) I received a Case Complete on July 22nd. The day before three N/A did show up online on the CEAC website. I received my interview at the consulate on August 27th. It was only this morning (September 4th) that it showed up "in transit" on the website.

2) Yes, I did mean to say I-864 (The Affidavit of Support). I received a letter in August, 2014, another one October, 2014, another one January, 2015 and another one March, 2015. So there were four different checklists. Each requesting different corrections on the form. The frustrating part was that I redid the form each time but changed absolutely nothing. I don't care at this point. As my husband stated to a supervisor in July, 2015...we want results not excuses at this point. We had not heard a thing from the NVC for four months. When my husband called in July, we received our case complete in less than 24 hours. A pretty frustrating experience.

I am pleased to day that things are moving on as they should right now. VJ has proved to be an invaluable resource to us.

thanks tayjoc, that is very frustrating to receive 4 checklists :(

If my case is indeed complete (3 N/As), i'd be happy if that means no more checklists.

So, it took 2 months for you CC to interview. If the CC to interview for Montreal is similar for everybody, I'd be interviewing in Montreal in November 4 or so.

Good luck on your interview.

Thank you :) Once your case is complete, you are are finished with the checklists. The next email you will receive is your interview date, time and a list of what to bring to the consulate. You are also able to book you medical at that point. I was able to book mine with 4 days notice.

In the meantime, make sure your police certificate is not expired as they are good for one year. Also, due to my year delay I prepared another AOS since the last one I sent in March had expired. The current one is good until July, 2017 I believe. I also had to include a 2014 tax return since my last AOS had 2013's. So I will bring the updated one to my interview in a few weeks. They asked me to bring an original one so I needed my husband to sign the updated form anyway.

You should hear very soon about your case complete.

I just learned how to track my case from the NVC to Montreal. This may not be new to anyone here but this is another way that you can track where your case is and when it arrives at the consulate in Montreal. It is through a DHL website. Once I put in the right parameters, this is what came up:

This is how you check:

I went to www.dhl.comclicked Express then Tracking, then Track by Shipper's Reference, on this page you add your search info..You change the day and month to what you think your's might have left NVC

EXAMPLE:
* Shipper´s Reference : EXP 03 SEPT 2015A
* Date range for shipment - From: 03 - 09 - 2015
* Date range for shipment - To: 05 - 09 - 2015
Account Number - Leave this blank
Shipment Destination: Canada / You Choose your Country

Keep in mind that this only works once your case has left the National Visa Center and registers "in transit" on the CEAC website :)

This is a cool trick.

a question though, did you actually enter your MTL2015XXXXXX in place of "EXP 03 SEPT 2015A"?

Nope: Once you find out when your CEAC goes "in transit" than that is what you put in. The suggestion was to put an A after the year. If you are unsure when it when into transit than play around with the dates. If you are not incorrect than nothing will show up> If you see what mine did that you can be sure it is a case file being sent to the consulate.

So if you typed in today's date you would type:

EXP 05 SEPT 08 2015A

You need to type in a date range. For the second set f dates you can not put in past the current date. Hope that all makes sense,

According to what I found out about my case: My case was mailed out September 3rd in the afternoon and it changed to "in transit" on the Ceac website early Thursday morning, September 4th.

That is appalling :(

There must have been quite a few Canadian cases that completed after June 16 that have already scheduled.

If CC really means it is complete and no more work is being done, then what would be the hold up?

Maybe the case manager is irresponsible? Is the file still in NVC?

Yes it is still at NVC.

I don't know what is their problem. I called a couple times and requested to speak to supervisor but the rep told me that a supervisor can't help me because I already got Case complete. It's frustrating. I was hoping for an August interview but it suck.
