I had my interview at Montreal at the end of August. It went exactly like the most recent Consulate reviews have said. The people in my line still had the general admission time of 7:40am so me and my SO got there really early so we could be first. I got number 1 and it went very fast after we finally got inside; I was out before 9am.

They did process the visitor B1/B2 visas first. I don't know what time the K1 filers were finally let inside but it felt like it was probably after 7:40. People were definitely getting turned away for having backpacks and purses and there was no leniency for any of it; go check your bag at Eaton's or bring it back to your hotel and come back before 11am.

I was most nervous handing in all the required documents before the interview but when the actual interview came up I was ready to go. Easy questions and when he got to the more generic ones like have I ever been arrested I knew I was in. I was grinning from there on out.

EDIT: I want to add that if you can make a weekend out of it Montreal's such a fun city to explore. Old Montreal, St. Catherine's Street, the gay district, Chinatown... all fantastic. Me and my SO had a blast; we still talk about it.

Thanks, that was really helpful..

My initial plan was to make a whole week of Montreal/Quebec city tour. But I will do that in few years. lol... I been to both places, Quebec city is even more prettier and have historic places than Montreal.

And don't even get me started on Mont Tremblant. I been there multiple times when I lived in Ottawa.

I asked the consulate if they need any more documents from me. They responded with this:

Good morning,

Thank you for your email!

Please note that you must bring with you on the day of the interview the required documents mentioned on the checklist. Secondly, please advise the consular officer on the day of the interview that you reside in the United States on a nonimmigrant visa and the officer will advise you how to proceed in order to pick up your passport once the visa has been issued.

Best regards,

What can I say, I am jealous of you all with interviews!

My CC is May 12, although my PD date is January.

Same here. I had an arguments with the two NVC rep Friday nights. We have the same timelines. That's probably why were still stuck at NVC.

Yours hasn't been scheduled yet either?

Hopefully October is or time! Montreal is nice then...

Not yet. I'm getting impatient with NVC. I'm glad I'm leaving in 2 weeks to see my husband.

Well I had my Physical in Montreal with Doctor Lyndon Mascarenhas. It was an 8 hour round trip and it was EXACTLY the way everyone described it on this site.

I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment and the receptionist had me fill out some required paperwork. She asked me for my proof of immunization : (TD and MMR), my passport and one on passport photo.

The doctor saw me exactly when my appointment was supposed to start (2pm) He asked me if I had ever had Chicken Pox and I stated I had it as a child. This exempts you for the Varicella needle. He asked me:

1. My height

2. My weight

3. Was I on any medications or if I had any medical conditions.

4. He had me stand up and took my blood pressure.

And that was it!! It took 10 minutes. I gave him $300 cash and $50 to have the results couriered to my home in a week. They will send me a conformation email when they send it to me so I can track the whereabouts of the package.

I then had to go to the basement of the same building to get an xr-ay. That took 5 minutes.

I then went outside and around the corner to get one vial of blood drawn to check for Sphyilis. I had to weight 15 minutes there.

It was effortless and easy!

You meant Toronto. Right?

Did Dr. Lyndon's office accept Debit card? Or only cash? I would be short of time since I would be driving from Detroit that day for 11 AM appointment.

I'm pretty sure it's cash only - at least that's what the website says. visadoctor.ca

Yes, Dr. Lyndon is in Toronto and only accepts cash. He'll ask for it right there in the exam room. Exact change is preferred.

Quick question folks: I received my interview last Thursday, August 26 and was finally able to register at Loomis a few minutes ago. The CEAC website has not been updated yet: it still says "At the NVC". My interview is on September 28th. How long till the CEAC is update to "ready".

I just want to make sure Montreal has my file before my interview. I have heard of stories of files getting misplaced in transit. Thanks.
