F2a What are the documents required & next steps after I130 approval?

Hi All,

My F2a case was recently transferred from Vermont to California service center on 27th Aug 2015. Our PD is 30Dec 2014 - India

Can someone please shed some light with respect to next steps and documents that we should keep handy that will be required soon to be submitted to NVC once application is approved and fee bills generated.

Whether we need to submit scanned docs or original please can you advise ?

1) Birth certificate of applicant

2) marriage certificate

3)Police clearance certificate etc

I guess you already have birth certificate and marriage certificate and the passport. Other things needed later on are tax transcripts, police certificates, PP photos. You do not want to make police certificate too early as it may expire before you get your interview appointment.

You need to send only the photocopies of required civil documents to NVC (marriage certificate, birth certificate, police certificate, passport biographic page). You will be taking the originals during the interview.

Whether you need to submit the scanned or hard copies depends on the case number provided by NVC.
