My fiance asked me to post for him and ask what he should wear to his interview the day after tomorrow. :lol: At first he was going to wear a suit and tie, but I talked him down to nice pants and a nice shirt. He's wondering which one of us is right, or if neither of us are right and he should wear jeans. What did/will you do?

It was so cold the day of my interview in London so I wore jeans, a warm sweater and a ski jacket.

That didn't cause me any problem.

I wore a shirt and a medium length skirt.... but we don't want your boy to wear them of course.....

Haha :D Anything comfy but tidy enough and clean...but not too formal like suits and all that. You're right, just some nice shirts and pants. Hahaha.... why are we making it difficult???!!!

It's my fiance's interview but I'm going.

He is going to wear pants and a dress shirt. I'm going in a sleeveless shirt (hey, it's Rio) and a skirt.

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil

:lol: Funny considering, as a friar, he wore what I referred to as a dress... of course my now-fiance-then-friar-friend was always quick in reminding me that it's a HABIT, not a dress... :lol: I'll just tell him my VJ friend told me to tell him he needs to buy a kilt for his interview. :lol:

Quite honestly, what you wear will have no bearing whatsoever on whether you get approved or not. At my interview, there were people in jeans, sweat pants, shorts, dress pants, whatever..... and they all got approved. They couldn't even see what we were wearing through the glass at the counters we were interviewed at.

Business casual is the look he should shoot for. If he is used to a suit and tie, and this is normal for him, then by all means, he should wear one. But from everything I gathered (and I asked the same question for my fiancée for her interview) the response was business casual.

Many described seeing people dressed pretty down, even scruffy, but this is an important day for him. Good luck at his interview! :thumbs:

Does it really matter? I would look nice because I always try too. but.... If all of the documentation is right I would not think appearance was all that critical.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.
