For those who are now living in America, can you please share your first impressions, your disappointments, your surprises, as you adjusted to living in America.

How long was it before you first became homesick?

Was there any plan of you returning to the Philippines to visit your family and friends prior to coming to America? When do you plan to go back home to visit?

Have you made any new friends in America?

Have you connected with any other Filipino's who are now living in America?

Any advice for those who are about to come to America?

Thank you! :star:

I can only share that my fiance/wife (this was 1987) living here in Dana Point was absolutely shocked at the limited clothing worn by the ladies here in California. Also, the "touching in public" was a real shocker for her. There are

no cross-dressers or outward displays of homosexuality here in Dana Point so she wasn't exposed to that.

I think this is most likely an individual thing to deal with. Claudeth has been here for over a year and a half and really enjoys being here with no homesick feelings at all. She says that she does miss, from time to time, going to the malls in Cagayan and eating the Filipino food but other than that she took to America like a duck to water!
