I think you could do them both at about the same time. Maybe run to the DMV, SSA and do her name change first, and in about 1-2 weeks she should get her new stuff, and maybe in that timeframe, send off the AOS with her stuff in her new married name? Not sure, but if you do that, obviously put her maiden name wherever it asks for "other names used". I mean for the I-864 she's filing, I assume the tax return will be in her maiden name, so I don't know. This is all stuff you would expect (or at least hope) that the people handling your case could "do the math".

Thanks! Yes all the tax returns and stuff will still be in her maiden name.

No problem.

Also, getting ready to leave soon in an hour for our 2.5-3 hour drive to Milwaukee for our biometrics tomorrow morning at 9am. I certainly hope it takes just 15 minutes overall like everyone says, I am kind of in that feeling of "lets get this over with".

So we are bringing:

Passport (has visa in it even though that's not used)

Marriage Certificate (actual copy, not a photocopy)

Appointment Letter

Also just bringing all our NOAs for this process

Also copy of vaccination report

Also her x-ray results from her medical (probably don't need the last few, but I keep them all in a file together).

I've heard people say cell phones are okay to bring into the building, but the appointment letter explicitly states that they aren't allowed. I just don't want to show up and mess this up and get sent away.

And final words of wisdom before we head out? I am nervous, but I am also just a worry-wart like that.

Had the biometrics, all went well. Got there 30 minutes early, and they did everything so we were out of there quick. Now I am wondering, how long would it be before they schedule the potential interview? I am curious because I am nervous it will be around Christmas, which would likely ruin my holiday plans of Danielle and I going back to my parents in a different state.
