Is the Consular Interview appointment letter the one that they send you saying that the consulate is ready for your interview and has the steps? Or do I have to wait for an additional letter?

Yes, that would be the letter needed in order to proceed with scheduling the ASC/Biometrics, interview, pay visa fees, and selecting DHL location for passport delivery. You can scan it and email it to your fiancé in case only one copy was received but make sure that you present that letter at your ASC/Biometrics, medical, and interview dates. Fill out the DS-160 form if you have not already done so as well.

Note: If no interview date is currently available, you might not be able to process the payment for the K-1 visa fee, schedule an ASC/interview, etc. Check the site on a daily basis and once an interview slot has opened up, you shouldn't experience any issues. :)

All the best, Gera.

Hiii, I have a question, your proof of relationship emails, chats, were they in english or spanish? And if it was in spanish did you have to translate everything?

Also did they ask you for a copy of the package sent to NVC?

Thanks!

The proof of relationship that was mailed in for an I-129F (K-1) fiancé visa should contain English translations for the following...

Birth certificates, letter of intent, any prior divorce decree, etc. For the chat logs, they are not necessary to translate and I highly recommend actual "together" pictures that can be submitted (frontloaded) or shown to the IO (Interviewing Officer) at the Consular interview.

It is always best to keep a duplicate copy of all of the documents that were submitted in the application process but they will not be asking you for any copies (the packet submitted is in their possession) unless they request to view an original document during the interview.

Note: For a K-1 visa process, you are to schedule the ASC/Biometrics and Interview online utilizing the link mentioned above and for an IR-1/CR-1, the Consulate usually schedules you for an interview once they are ready to process your application.

Hi!

i want to confirm something. I received the NVC letter. the one that said my case is now at the embassy. I went ahead and filled out the DS-160 and made the appointment. I'm still waiting for communication from the embassy right? Will the embassy send both me and my fiancé a copy of the packet? Asking because the mail System in Mexico stinks.

Just curious because I will need to go through the same process soon, how did you end up getting the packet/letter the embassy sends? The mail system in Mexico takes forever, so we were thinking about getting the letter from the information window in Juarez. However, I just found out that if you fiance is located in Mexico City they have to do the medical and biometrics in Mexico City and not Juarez... and you need the embassy letter in order to get those done.
