I was wondering if it might be possible for you to add a simple button choice for our fiancé's who choose to create accounts on here? As the USC filer I did our time line, but my fiancé created her account and we didn't do anything with hers, because mirroring my time line would throw off the data, so leaving her time line alone seemed like the only real choice/

Is there a way to create this option? Or a simple way for my fiancé's time line to link to mine?

So far it hasn't happened to my knowledge, but many people get stinky about members who have no updated timeliness, and surely someones innocent fiancé has had a post responded to with :time:

I think I understand. You are looking for a way for both your accounts to link to the same timeline?

Correct, although there may already be a way to do that that I haven't found yet.

Perhaps the VisaJourney Timeline Entry Page could be altered slightly to include a drop down after the personal data was entered to choose between being the USC and beneficiary? And below that a small comment box to enter the USC's member name if you are the beneficiary? (A brief bit of advice to not fill out any of the dates etc for statistical purposes for those who select 'beneficiary' would be wise.)

Might be a little bit of work, and not the largest improvement, but it would stop the :time: 's for beneficiaries and give a little extra stat for the lovers of those types of things, about how many VJ'rs are petitioners and how many are beneficiaries.

A search for a beneficiary's timeline would then give the couples names, the members status as a beneficiary, the user name of the petitioner, who should rightly be hounded to fill out his/her timeline

Depending on how your stats work, this sub choice should be before or after the visatype drop down.

The easiest is if the person can enter the member # for the other account. For example I am 11749.

For people who have a family member on the site as well and share the same timeline I added an option at the bottom of the timeline entry page where you can enter their member #. Once you do this their accounts will be linked to the timeline.

Please note that only two member accounts can be linked to the timeline (primary and alternate). The primary # is automatically filled in for the person editing the timeline (the system detects your member ID if you are logged in) and the alternate must be manually entered. It is possibly if the alternate person edits the timeline that they may be listed as the primary and alternate members linked to the timeline (so ideally the primary member should always edit it). I hope that makes sense.

I added my fiancé's member number to my timeline then went to her ID and tried to see if our now mutual timeline appeared but got an error I was told to report.

My guess is, since she partially filled out the timeline (with some help from me) so that our names etc would appear that could cause a glitch?

I like the basic idea, although if I could make one last suggestion, I would place this option slightly more prominently toward the top of the page, so that it is the first option prior to filling out the timeline as the primary account?

Thanks though for following up with this!

Make sure that you both only have one timeline between the two of you. For that one timeline make the secondary entry for the member number. :)

I had this reply often when we were waiting to be able to file.

I find it rude and ill mannered.

My fiance's signature refers people to the timeline on my page, that got around the problem for him.
