Both visa fees were paid August 15! What is wrong with USEM? I can't believe this.. I'll mention this to my senator's secretary tomorrow...

I'm thoroughly disgusted with the way this has been messed up so badly! All paperwork has been done according to the instructions. Application was approved in February. We had a few delays due to birth certificate issues, but that is all resolved.

I'm very disappointed and it's impossible to explain this to my fiancé....

It's mind boggling that any of our government can get anything done even asked to follow their own rules. Keep in contact with your representatives but if needed you can do one more thing and that is schedule and info-pass meeting USCIS so you can have a face to face meeting with someone who can help. Of course you need to be close to an office of theirs but look into that as a possibility. Info is below:

My fiancé finally heard from USEM. The email said she can now apply for visas. I also called the U.S. number for USEM information and questions (1-703-520-2235). The agent was very patient and collected information to verify our visa process: My name as petitioner, names of her and her child as beneficiaries, visa case number, visa payment receipt numbers for her and her child, and passport numbers. She then gave me instructions for her to set an appointment: documents needed to verify case and identity and last contact from Embassy which was the email she had just received--while I was on the phone.

She called 976-8500 embassy number and was able to schedule later in October! We were both surprised and very pleased with this date since we were led to believe that only November dates were available.

Finally, after being in the process since August 2014, because of mistakes made by California Service Center and who knows what else--since the initial approval from California was October 16, 2014!!! and the final approval was February 4, 2015!!!

I also notified one of my senators for help. They were very accommodating but most likely had little to do with the final outcome.

I appreciate all the help received here on Visa Journey and hope others are also successful--assuming we will finally have visas!

Heard from my Senator's office after calling them....They had just heard back from USEM.

The challenge with the baby's visa payment had been cleared up and I have no idea what that challenge was about. So she and her mother were able to schedule interview on Oct. 21.

As posted elsewhere on VJ, I'm flying to Manila to accompany them to the interview.

Thanks for your assistance!
