The usual answer for NVC to give you a number is 35 days. It really does depend sometimes it takes 35 days, sometimes it takes far less than that. It might even take a week. BUt when you call them they will always tell you the answer that it will take 35 days for a case number to be assigned.

When I called the person said that they received my file that same morning and he gave me my case number immediately after I confirmed my identity to him, the Nvc only had my case for less than 5 days then it was sent to the embassy in Bogota, that is when everything stopped because as of now is still can't schedule a date for my interview. I was told it might take 3 weeks to a Month just to sit waiting for a date to open up.

Keep calling everyday until they give you the case number. It moves much faster now. Get your documents organized to send to your fiancee for the interview. My fiance had her medical 3 weeks after we got the case number and the interview the next week. You are very close now!!!

Nope, nowadays it's taking 21-30 days or so. From my experience and few others who had the same NOA2 date and close to my NOA2 date. If I were you I'd start calling them after 2 weeks.

It really does depend, a friend of mine that is also doing the I-129f got approved in one week from the NVC, just like USCIS that it approves the applications NVC as well does the same thing, so its just luck sometimes.

Maybe I phrased my statement and question wrong I got my NOA2 on the 29th Ive call every day for 2 weeks this morning when I call they finally stated it was received and they just had to scan all the docs but I should check back after 4 weeks. So my question is has this happened to others because ive noticed some or most after the NVC receives the paperwork they get there MNL# number within a few day of that occurring

Maybe Im over thinking the process

I think that's their standard answer. I have no idea when it arrived at NVC, I didn't even call until yesterday (26th) and they had just assigned a number the day before (25th). It left TSC on the 17th, if that helps.

It's not a big deal, I wasn't even planning on calling at all because I figured we'd hear from the embassy in 3-5 weeks. I wound up calling out of sheer curiosity and because there's a new case tracker for NVC and I wanted to see where I was in it.

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:
