A pair of television journalists at a CBS affiliate in Virginia were shot and killed during a live broadcast Wednesday morning, and authorities said the suspected shooter, a former disgruntled employee at the station, shot himself after being confronted by police on an interstate highway.

The suspected gunman, identified as Vester Flanagan, a 41-year-old former WDBJ-TV reporter who went by the name Bryce Williams on air, is in critical condition, police said.

The victims, WDBJ-TV reporter Alison Parker, 24, and Adam Ward, her 27-year-old cameraman, died shortly after the shooting, which occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m. at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, Va., near Smith Mountain Lake.

The gunman opened fire as Parker was interviewing Vicky Gardner, the head of the Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce, live on the air. Gardner was shot in the back and taken to a hospital for surgery. . According to the Roanoke Times, Gardner is listed in stable condition.

Disturbing. Trigger Warning. There's a video in this link that shows the shooting. No blood, but still...

engaged to different people. It sounds like apparently the shooter had work related grudges and had accused this particular news team of harassment when he worked with them.

At least we know our country is safe because there are guns out there. If only the news crew were holding guns instead of mics and cameras, they would still be alive. What were they thinking?

Well quite simply it goes to show that a society in which such a scenario is possible is utterly demented.

Wait! Vester Flanagan is black! Give it a couple of pages and no doubt it will be suggested that he did the shooting because he is black.

Why wait a couple pages, let's save the bandwidth and just call it now.

Black!!

fox has already discussed that he was a huge, intimidating black man and that he liked to accuse everyone around him of racism. They'll even be able to find links to back themselves up. Yay Faux.
