Continue working for UK firm on K1

I know, i know, there are other threads similar to this, but the advice is so contradicting and confusing i feel i need to ask.

I'm on the verge of getting my K1 visa, and have informed my work of my plans. They have expressed an interest in keeping me on and allowing me to work remotely.

My understand so far is that they want to still pay me in GBP and into my UK bank account. Some say this is ok on a K1, some say its not.

Some say that you are authorised to work on a K1 until you get married and then its revoked. Some say no work whatsoever.

Theoretical - what if i became a contractor and my work paid my company and i took no salary?

I plan to go out to the US the full 90 days (well, a few under to be safe) before the wedding as we have already been apart too long. Couple that with the 3 month wait for an EAD with AOS will mean 6 months without income. Not ideal.

I plan to ask this at my visa interview next week (will they have a clue?) but is there anyone here that could cut through the mystery of all the conflicting info that is present on the internet from the last decade or so?

Thanks.
