I just noticed from our CEAC status that AOS fee changed to N/A?? Inputs, any please? I read somewhere that this could indicated that case may be complete? The original documents that my husband sent haven't arrive yet and I'm a little worried. Kindly please share your experience. How long does it usually take to be scheduled for interview after that "AOS PAID" changed to "N/A" thing happen? Any comment will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

From what I have been seeing... After you see the N/A it is case completed... Right now it is taking anywhere from 10 to 20 days to get your instructions and interview date.... the interview date is approx 30 days from when you get the instructions.... Good luck... We are awaiting our interview date as well

Thanks yeah...seems like...the anticipation is killing me and making me so anxious. So im guessing i should get the interview instruction sometime towards end of Sept and maybe interview towards end of October. I hope all goes well. As I'd really like to see my eldest son and husband already! God bless and good luck on your papers and interview too! T.C. Edited by debi361

I am thinking that your interview instructions around be second week of Sept and a interview date in mid Oct... It works out to about 6 weeks from Case Closed to interview

Looks like you are CR1 visa. After you pay the AOS fee to NVC then either they send you notice of IV invoice or you go back to the CEAC site and see the IV invoice has been posted. After that is paid you will have access to completing the online actual visa application.

Somewhere along the way you will have to send NVC the AOS form and all supporting documents as well as all the documents for IV application itself. After they have all docs in hand it can take around 60 days to review and hopefully you will not get any RFE's. Then they notify you that app has been sent to Manila and then you just wait for notification of scheduled interview date, usually another 6 weeks out.

Caveat: When your asawa goes to interview in addition to all the stuff the USEM says to bring make sure she has a CEMAR form from the NSO.

Hey! Thanks for that info. We live in Bohol and mail system where we live is kinda slow. Would you know how they send the interview instructions? Is it via Philpost or they use a courier?

Hi! Thanks for your reply. I am IR1 visa applicant. Yes, my husband sent all the AOS and IV documents after we paid all. Just waiting now for interview instructions. And i got the indication that my case may be finished at NVC and would now go to embassy. But no, my husband cannot come with me to the interview in Manila because he's in the US and we dont have plan for him to come here for interview. Is it necessary for him to be there during my interview?

Also, we've been married 11 years now and we have 2 kids, 11 years old and 7 years old who both have CRBA, US passports and SS numbers. I dont have Cenomar. Will they still look for that from me? They didnt look for that when i processed our kid's CRBA though.

I know that your interview date comes through e-mail... I'm not sure if it will come through mail or not... That'll be a question for someone else

I can't respond directly to IR1 visas but to the best of my understanding the only difference between CR1 and IR1 is the length of marriage before filing???

No need for the asawa to be present. Just cross the t's and dot the i's and you will sail through. The most frustrating thing for you on interview date will be the waiting. Seems like forever according to my wife from station to station.

I would personally recommend having a CEMAR/CENOMAR in hand. Or you can just wait to see if CO asks for one. It only took another week after the interview to obtain the required document.
