Information Black Hole

I have been at this long enough to think I know the answer, but here goes... We did the biometrics appointment for ROC on 22 May 2015. (Filing of 751 was 27 April 2015). When I check the Status Page for USCIS - there is nothing but a message that says "Your Case Was Received". We received the 1-year extension letter, but so far nothing else.

Is there no additional information available until the case gets flipped to processing the card? It seems like a long time to have nothing happening... is this normal?

We have moved and filed an address change - and received the confirmation... but we are still nervous that we might have missed something. Any suggestions, or just wait it out? (I am tracking the April filers list in this forum.)

Thanks in advance... my nervous wife thanks you too! Best of luck to everyone.

Thanks - and I am sorry for everyone who is waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting. The process is definitely 'broken' and I am just looking for some reassurance. Hopefully we all get what we want some time soon!

Just relax and settle in for a long wait.

Remember that something like 93% get approved. If your case is legit, you'll get approved. Yes, they might send a (possibly ridiculous) RFE, but this isn't like a lottery, or even a job application where you have 6 people (or 60) applying for the same job.

My ex-wife filed in October 2013 and as of August 2014 hadn't heard a word. I went to an infopass appointment and the IO looked in the computer and said "The file is still sitting in Vermont, I'll have it sent down here."

You life isn't going to change if they don't get to it soon. It likely won't go over a year, and if it does you go to infopass and tell them and they'll give you some other kind of extension.

A process isn't broken just because it's not transparent. You cannot expect the Department of Homeland Security to make each step of the process clear so you know exactly where you are. Your information, as well as others, is at stake and they try to protect that.

What is broken is the order and speed at which each service center adjudicates petitions. VSC should not be as far behind as it is.
