Moving with Cats to the U.S.

I've been trying to do lots of reading on the requirements to bring cats across the border when it comes time to move - some places state that you need rabies proof, some say a full bill of health, others say nothing is required for cats.

Can anyone with experience clarify this for me?

We brought Jingle Bells at POE in Buffalo, NY, Peace Bridge. We called the Custom's office there and was told we required nothing for a cat. They looked in the car, saw the cat was healthy and let him pass.

Not sure about other POEs, but the cat was the easiest part of our immigration.

only dogs require the rabies shot when coming across

and a full list of all shots not just the metal they give out for the shot

I came across with two cats and a dog, and simply had my vet print off a certificate of health for all three. They did this at no charge, though I'm not sure yours will, it's worth looking.

The certificate had all their vaccines listed on it, and the vet basically just said that they were clear of any disease.

The border guy didn't want the form, nor did he look at my pets, this was at the Port Huron crossing.

nope, one is fine with nothing! Of course it does not hurt to have thier vaccination card available.
