ok this is my quick story, i try doing k1 visa but i think ill work on doing k3 (is that cr-1/ir-1 now?) i got plans going back to nepal in 2 months to marry my girlfrend in her conutry,

i would like to know what are the steps needed to marry there? we just gonna do it the quick court house way.

and where and how do i get this no objection Certificate? do i go at the court house for this? or something and how long would it take

how long and much all this will take and cost?.

would 1 month stay in nepal be enough time to do all of this?

and would it make it lot easier to bring my wife over to the U.S on k3 visa since we would be married?

thank you all :)(F)

okay here is the drama

1. u have to proove u r single .. for that u have to have an appointment at us embassy kathmandu .. cost 50usd

2. she has to proove she is single. will b done by high rates official in nepal. there is a form for that

3. marriage certificate seems easy but is twisted. normal process 45 days .. and expidite process 15 days

require

ur proof of single

her proof of single

ur passport copy

her citizenship copy

12 photos

3 forms available at registrar office

certificate from her vdc stating u people are in love and they know its geniune and no objection

police certificate stating no objection and that u two are living together

that's how u do... it's a big drama .. when u go to registrar office there are touts calling themselves lawyer.get hold of them and bargain for cheaper fee and let them handle so u don't have to chase wildgoose

shoot me if u have any questions

don't forget to do big wedding with many photos .. in Nepal embassy they want to see that during interview

k3 don't do.. do cr1

before u come back get her g325a singles and filled

I was still thinking about your case and here are few things i wanted to add.

Where are you getting married in Nepal ?? No matter where go to CDO Office for registration. If in Kathmandu, then CDO office is at Babarmahal

don't forget to do big nepali wedding. visa officer wants to see that :)

  It's definitely going to be expensive. And the moment they see a foreigner marrying nepali, tons of questions comes up .. ahhh America .. hmmm .. dollar dollar.. all they see you is like richie rich :goofy: :goofy:

thx. not sure where ill have the wedding at. just gonna be some quick court marriage, i wont be able to do a expensive big wedding for now. if this help. i already been up in nepal for 2 weeks to visit her, also been going out for 1 year. back in march 2015. i was new there and didnt really have plans on marrying up there, just in the usa, with k1 visa. but i think it better doing CR1

so i would like to marry her there, hopefuly within 1 month, of being there. now i have set up a big folder of info, chat log,, proof, pics, etc since i was already working on trying to do k1 visa but didnt send any info out yet since i wanted to get the whole affidavit of support work out well.

so for the no objection letter i have to do it in the us embassy at kathmandu?. cant do it in the usa? at a court house or something?

Dude listen if u can't get traditional wedding they tend to keep spouse on ap after interview

If not big wedding then at least 20-30 ppl and wedding at temple.. They say " mandir ma biha" in nepali for that. Get tons of photos of that ceremony

I don't know if u can get that no objection letter from USA .. But I know u have to get that from us embassy kathmandu. It take 50 USD and 1 appointment .. Hope they didn't raised the price

Good luck
