My fiancee received our NOA2 two weeks ago and we have been trying to contact NVC all day. At first it gave us a waiting time of 20 minutes, but after hanging up and calling again later I realize we did a big mistake! Now all we hear is that all of their operators are busy and to try and call later.. which we have, but we keep only receiving that message. Is there any other way to contact NVC to find out if they received our Visa/receive case number? Fx. by email?

Also, I mostly read that you should call NVC after +/- 2 weeks to hear about the situation, but online on other websites I keep reading that NVC will send you a mail telling you when they received your case.. is it really necessary to call NVC?

If it makes you feel any better, I called and had the 20 minute wait time. I sat through 20 minutes of them playing the same hold music loop (it was about 40 seconds long), and then at the end they... hung up on me. Immediately. It's happened twice now. I'd say email is worth a shot, keep trying the phone too.

Unfortunately, calls will always go that way. I have had to sit through 40 minutes of waiting time. It took for 26 days for NVC to receive my petition but then a few days later they sent it to the Embassy! Keep calling, but keep in mind it might take 2-4 weeks.

I just finished calling them for two weeks. They were always very nice but if you hear the man immediately it will hang up on you. Continue to call until you hear it ringing again. That means you are getting through to the hold. It always say there is a 20 minutes wait time. I found that if you call early in the morning you get to the hold sooner. You might have to dial 20 times to get to the hold. Wait times for me have been 40 minutes to 60 minutes. Be patient and be persistent. Good luck! We just got our NVC case number yesterday. It took 27 days.

The best time is to call @ 6:58-6:59 AM and then you will get in and you need to wait 35-40 minutes. or you can try around 11:55 PM. All the other time, it will say call another time message. Wait at least 2 weeks after USCIS sent your case to get case number.

If you do not get the case number from NVC, you can't set up your appointment. You need to wait for the US Embassy to send to your fiancee the letter or email and you will know your case number.

Email to NVC does not work. I did not get any reply yet and I did not get any letter from NVC that our case was sent to the Embassy.

But when you will talk with NVC over phone they are very polite and will answer all your questions.

Thanks for all the replies, I guess we will have to keep on calling, it's just a problem when my fiancée (who's American) is in Europe with me right now and calling to an American number with Skype or any # from outside the U.S. can get quite pricy! Another question: was there ever a time where it was automated or has it always been necessary to talk to an actual operator? They should seriously just come up with extreme waiting times rather than just telling me to hang up.. It's so confusing
