Fingerprints expired?

I see some of VJs had to retake the I-485 biometrics. I got mine taken back in 08/2005, our interview was 12/2005 and we are pending FBI clearance since then. I had to renew my EAD once and the digit got reprinted but only the right index obviously.

I never got an invitation to renew the biometrics for I-485. Should I be worried and do you think I could request it per during an InfoPass appointment?

Was anyone able to find a link or the document that states that biometrics will expire after 15 month?

We are close to the same situation as you are. We actually went for an infopass appointment alittle while ago and they told us THEY will contact us once the FBI namecheck is cleared. No need to do anything except wait for now. Our interview was approved pending namecheck Oct 2005 . We already had two EADs but were never asked to redo any biometrics when we did the second one; we will see when we file the third one!

It's my understanding they won't ask for the prints again until they are about ready to issue the greencard.

My husband's prints will expire in about 30 days.

yeah, i don't understand that either, how do fingerprints expire....i mean unless we had to get a prosthetic hand or something......

LOL....

I know...weird isn't it?

My understanding is it has something to do with their storage capabilities for prints. I can only guess the records are stored on computers and 'dumped' when they get so old.

my husbands prints expired along time ago and we still never recieved anything asking for more of them. so i called our lawyer and she said u only need to do them again if they ask for them.

Just wondering... do they charge another fee when fingerprints need to be re-taken?
