You can file whilst out of the US. Filing when you get back to the US on March 8 will most likely be quicker mail timewise though.

I am in Philippines at this time and would like to file for K1 visa for my girl that lives here. I should wait till I return to us on March 8th. to file? :help:

You should download a G325A and let her help you get all the info and get her to sign it. Make passport photos of her, get pictures of you two together, receipts and all that stuff so you have it all together. Buy her an engagement ring maybe, and keep the receipt etc etc. :)

NOA1 - 12/21/15

Ok I will do that. My girl does not have a birth cert. she was born at home in provence. How do we get her a legal 1?

Hi, Im from Philippines. What do you mean she doesnt have BC? Late Registered or No SECPA (NSO Authenticated) copy? She can get one from the NSO Office or even order one online. I would suggest to get 2 or more copies and the CENOMAR ( Certificate of NO Marriage). I got mine online and paid to Equitable PCI Bank, 2 copies of BC (SECPA) and 2 copies CENOMAR for only 1,400 php and delivered to me through FEDEX in 3 days. She can also go to the NSO office and request copies for 125 php each. Hope this will help.

I gave original copy of BC and CENOMAR to my fiance prior to Filing 128F. It's better to let her fill out the G325 forms and bring them with you when you go back to US.

I would also suggest waiting, given the state of the Philippine postal system. Filing when you return will probably be just about as timely as mailing from PI. Good luck on your journey!

Hi there, BC can be claimed from NSO (National Statistics Office) or just go online or call their hotline number. I suggest that you prepare necessary papers so you can bring them back home w/ you and save you mailing time. She doesn't have to go home to province to obtain BC...

Ok, she has applied for her bc in manila. She has no high school records or birth cert. Her cousin thinks she will not be able to get a passport or visa. I think she is wrong. Anyone else have any advise. She also said that philippines are makeing it very hard for philippino's to leave the country.

High school records aren't part of the requirements so don't worry about that. The birth certificate is though - I've also read of people using a baptismal certificate as proof but I don't know if that's actually possible. Look at the 'Guides' tab above and see what you do need for the K-1 process. Do everything you can while you're there as it will save time and money sending things back and forth. One definite is the passport photos and her signature on all 4 copies of the G-325A's. Also get plenty of photos together - preferably of you, her, and her family. Keep your boarding passes as well as they are good 'proof'.

 Sometimes it would take a month to get mail from Claudeth. The 8th is only a week away so why not just wait and then you can take your time getting the forms all filled out and documents that you might need ready. Good luck

Don't 'make' passport photos. Go and have them taken to meet USCIS guidelines.

For this phase of the process your fiance will need to sign the FOUR DIFFERENT copies of the G325A. I would suggest just having her sign two or three sets in blank and you can complete them more legibly once you get back home.

She also needs to prepare and sign a letter of intent.

Her birth certificate is not required to file the I129F. But it will be required for her interview - much later down the road.

You don't "apply online" - you download the forms FROM THE OFFICIAL US GOVT SITE - http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis - and fill them out and print them out and mail them in.

The I-129F you can fill out on the computer and save. THe G-325A you can fill out on the computer and though you cannot save it, it will fill out all 4 copies automatically. Yes all 4 copies must be filed out and submitted and they require original signatures on all 4 copies - for each you and your fiance.

Also - if you have a problem with her birth certificate still, don't stress about it now. The beneficiary (the non-US citizen) doesn't need to include a birth certificate at this point - you just need your US citizen birth certificate.

Ok, thanks alot. my girl is traveling to her birth provence in 2 weeks and is going to try and get a bc and baptismal cert. She has a voters card, will that help? My girl has a son also, I need to do both for visa's?

Yes, you will need to include him in your petition. Take your time and go through all the sample forms on this site and you should be fine at this stage. Your challenges will come when it is time for her to go to the embassy. She will need her birth certificate on NSO security paper. Once she gets her birth certificate in her province she will have to have it late registered with the NSO. That may raise a red flag for the embassy so she will need to gather as much information as possible to prove her identity. Have her get her elementary school records, get a notarized statement from the person that delivered her if possible. When she gets her baptismal have her also get the registry also to show who attended.

Good luck!
