Still Waiting for Almost 20 Months!!

Hi all,

Back in Jan 2014 when I was LPR I applied for my wife for immigrant visa. USCIS approved our case and sent to NVC. On Mrach 2015 NVC asked for DS-260 & 261 plus AOS and fees. After all steps has been done, we've got a letter from NVC which indicates that case is completed and As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

On July 2015 I become US citizen and on my application where they asked for spouse status I mentioned our case # and status. Apparently, right after I took the oath NVC upgraded our case to CR1 based on provided info on application. I called NVC three times to make sure whether I need to send any proof or fill any forms or not and the answer was No and they always mention the case is completed just wait for interview date to get scheduled.

Long story short, Today I was checking some case # randomly on Ankara, Turkey consulate (where our interview suppose to take in place) and realized some F2A cases who applied after us already got interview date scheduled!!

Since NVC says our case is completed but interview has not been schedule yet, do you know what exactly going on here with our case? Why cases who applied after us are being interviewed but not us?! I though if the category get changed from F2A to CR1 things happen faster but seems I was wrong!!

Are they saying your case hasn't been sent to the embassy yet?

The ceac.state.gov website shows our case is still at NVC!

Do not get the Visa types mixed up. F2A's across all embassies have been getting most if not all the September slots. Turkey is one yes.

Has nothing to do with your individual case. You have no timeline so I have no idea your CC. I have someone from Turkey with CC 6/11. Here is the spreadsheet.

You should also come join us on the Interview thread. Many of the embassies started a 2nd round of September interview scheduling yesterday also.

I would call and verify with NVC about your citizenship. I have never known of anyone who didn't have to send in their information to upgrade.

sorry, no one knows of your citizenship status change at NVC. Best to get a supervisor on the phone at NVC, follow their exact instructions for getting proof of citizenship into the office, and wait for a status change.

Thank you all for your responses.

I called them three times and each time I was told my case is upgraded to CR1 since my status changed from LPR to citizen. I never ever sent any document to tell them I am citizen and that's why every time I call them I ask if I need to fill any form or send any proof or not! The answer is always NO!!

To answer your question regarding our Case Completion date, it was completed on 02/03/2015 - this is when I received NOA. However NVC says the actual completion dare is 30-Mar-2015.

We are really tired of this annoying and frustration system!!!!

That's NVC for you. When you log into the CEAC website, what visa type does it say in the right hand corner, CR-1 or F2A?

The visa class shows F2A! Now I am more confused! On the phone we are CR1 but here F2A!!
