Hi everyone,

We filed under F2A category our PD is August 19 2014, our case was completed at NVC on the 28th of July 2015 and we were placed in line to be scheduled an interview until our PD became current, my husband became a U.S citizen and we mailed and emailed his certificate on the 19th of August

Do any of you know more or less how long it will take to upgrade from F2A to IR1/CRI?

Does it make any difference that our case was already completed ?

02 September 2015 - Spoke to supervisor Silvia about our upgrade, found out whoever reply to our email was wrong and she was going to take a look at our case :rolleyes:

09 September 2015 - Confirmed upgrade F2a to CR1 through the phone with Supervisor Silvia (she's an angel) :D

14 September 2015 - Received P4 letter email ( interview letter) :dancing:

8th November - POE MIAMI (the whole process took about 45mn)

19th November - Received SSN by mail ( I had applied for it when asked if i wanted to be issued a SSN in the DS260)

23rd December- Received GC by mail (it took about 45 days from POE) finally :dancing:

We're on the same page... Requested upgrade from f2a to IR June 25,2015.case completed Aug.17,2015 but until now no upgrade has been done. Its been more than 60days... From 30 days to 60 days. Agents are not consistent.called for supv but wasnt able to talk to them insted they sent a req for rwview.. more thn 5 days no response from the supv.

Yes..so frustrating..imagine that was sent june 25 and sent it 3x. With my civil docs my naturalization cert was there but when they approved my case its still f2a. ???

I am in the same boat. I send my certificate on August 6th and case complete on August 20th but still in F2A. Called number of times and everytime I got the same answer. There is no time line for case update. One lady said it will take 42 days, but still no luck.

My pd is Feb 19th 2014. Case got complete Aug 17th and just received interview letter yesterday for sept 22nd.

My wife just did her citizenship interview and her oath is on sept 10th. Im planning on not mentioning about her citizenship and going through as if nothing happened.

.....anyone have other ideas?

April 6th,15 - Received Welcome Letter with AOS Invoice

April 9th,15 - Completed DS-261 and paid AOS fee

April 16th,15 - AOS fee showed paid, IV invoice still missing

May 12th,15 - AOS and IV package sent in 1 package

May 18th,15 - Package received by NVC

June 16th,15 - Received IV invoice ( I had to give them a call for it), apparently it got delayed because I chose the petioner as agent in DS-261, weird.

Still couldn't pay IV fee because online system was down

June 23rd,15 - Received Checklist

July 9th,15 - NVC received IV fee by mail, showed paid and got access to DS-260

July 11th,15 - Completed DS-260

July 23rd,15 - Sent checklist package

July 27th,15 - Checklist package received by NVC

August 12th.15 - Called NVC for an update. Agent said all documents received and under review, 25-30 days required.

August 17th,15 - Case Complete, but nothing received. Found out by calling them on August 24th.

@amjal....where did u got ur interview letter? Through mail or email? Does it mean they are still issuing for september interview? Im surprised..

02/28/15 : DS-261

03/04/15 : AOS bill paid

06/30/15 : AOS and IV package mailed to NVC

07/02/15 : AOS and IV package received by NVC

07/02/15 : Scan Date

07/30/15 : Paid IV fee

07/31/15 : submitted DS-260

08/10/15 : checklist thru phone call (told by CSR but never receive checklist email) they request me to send my civil docs

08/24/15 : re-sent civil docs

08/26/15 : 2nd scan date (received email 08/29/15)

09/10/15 : called nvc..CSR told me i have no problem with my documents and just call back next week

09/15/15 : called morning not cc..called again at 6:15 pm already CASE COMPLETE

Good to hear that amjal..that is why they dont start in giving intetview letter for the month of october..wow thats great...NVC are unpredictable..whats ur pd amjal?

Yup, havent heard of any october interviews yet.

wait until they send your case to the embassy and once the embassy has it contact them letting them know about your citizenship it will be 10x faster and either way if you dont mention it to them they will find out.

Congratulation. I sent email and mail to them on 17-Aug-15. Still no update.

Can you confirm the address and email where you sent this?

I sent to asknvc@state.gov and also sent mail to

I want to get it upgraded ASAP. Every time I call NVC they say they have not received any package from me.
