Hello!

My fiance lives in the United Kingdom. I know the medical exam fee for anyone over 15 costs 250 pounds. (http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/medical_examination.html)%C2'> any of this covered by the NHS or do we pay this in full out of pocket? I'm assuming, unfortunately, the latter? Thank you!

:)

The Exam is not undertaken by the NHS.

Pay in full out of pocket because it's one doctor who is private and has to be in London. Great monopoly.

Read through the instructions for the K1 visa application. The Embassy will ONLY accept medicals carried out by Knightsbridge for the purpose of visa applications. They will accept certain DOCUMENTS provided by your GP, and vaccination results, but only Knightsbridge can carry out the required medical.

1100 every month? Where on earth did you get your insurance?

Mine is 160 a month. 30 co pay.

Dirt Cheap, presumably subsidised.

By the employer, which is a health care organization, sure. But by the Government, if that's what you mean.

If you had said I contribute $160 a month to my total costs then that would have been more understandable.
