I checked the status on USCIS and received the following message:

As of August 14, 2015, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXX, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.

How long before we get the actual letter so I can arrangements at work for the interview? I know it changes, but a ball-park time frame....

Thanks

We are still waiting for a work card NOA1, we got the receipt that they received the I-765 on July 6th, but nothing since..... Is it all tied to the Interview?

This is a real c*r*a*p shoot. My experience was that we didn't have an interview and my wife/2 kids had their GC within 3 months of AOS submittal. Others here fall some where in 3 months to 9 months. It's the luck of the draw. Sorry I can't use the crystal ball, it's cracked.

You'll get the EAD and TD before you receive the GC and it is not tied to the interview. They will be approved and sent to you prior to your GC no matter how long it takes to receive the GC. If you want a "fast timeline" see mine in my signature box for our AOS. It might give you a better indication. Current times can be the same but like I said it's the luck of the draw. We didn't have an interview, but some do.
