Three suicides in Texas and Canada may be related to the massive Ashley Madison hack, authorities said Monday morning.

And the website is offering a $500,000 reward for information that leads to the prosecution of the people responsible.

San Antonio police captain Michael Gorhum, a 25-year veteran from the department, committed suicide last week after his email was leaked in a massive hack that exposed nearly 37 million email addresses on the Ashley Madison website, reports the International Business Times. The leaks included the users' email addresses, phone numbers, payment information and stated sexual desires.

But it's unclear if the captain, who oversaw the San Antonio Regional Intelligence Center Unit, actually was using the website and if the death was related to the data breach.

The city said in a statement to the Express-News that three of the leaked email addresses contained a @sanantonio.gov domain. One belonged to a former city employee and the others were the emails of a police captain and detective. But the city told the newspaper it could not verify whether the employees actually created those profiles.

No one is joking. It's sad he killed himself, none the less, this is one less worried wife. Infidelity brings about a lot undue stress to families, especially kids.

My ex cheated on me. Full on affair. Horrible stuff, and there were many days I wished him or myself dead. But had he actually taken his own life I would never cheer it, or find it satisfying in any way.

One less worried spouse.

well.. several million less worries spouses: They have the information now, a partners suicide isn't really needed for fixing the worry part.

Where did I say, that they don't?

When you said "it is a christian country" - which kinda sounds like you think being Christian part of the problem.. Like if you said "Well they are a black country of course there is a lot of crime" might understandably be seen as implying that maybe being black is part of the problem.

Unless you were going for being ironic - being all judgmental yourself and applying a stereotype about others being judgmental. Then I say well done!
