I'm very puzzled by today.

The hard copy of the NOA2 approval of petition finally arrived in the mail. It says that the petition indicated that I am in the US and I should now apply for adjustment of status but the petition actually clearly indicated that I would be applying for consular processing.

We called USCIS to verify they were holding the case and try to find out what went wrong but they said the approved petition was sent to the department of state. We asked why the NOA stated otherwise and the representative simply did not know. We called NVC and they have not received the approved petition yet (it has only been 2 weeks).

Could this just be a simple error on the notice when in fact everything is still going smoothly? Anyone knows of a way I can find out why there is a discrepancy between the information on the NOA and what we were told on the phone?
