Chinese police clearance

Hello everyone. First off thanks for reading this.

I found a fairly old thread with this topic and I wanted some fresh reaponses as things tend to change quickly, especially with chinese.

So. We need police clearance from china and there is not much information out there. And a lot of it is contradictory. Has anyone gotten it recently ? And we're you able to get it from the embassy, especially the chinese embassy in Manila in particular? If so please fill me in on the timeframe, requirements and so on, any info will be appreciated. But please don't post the same old link from the candian gov website.....read that one a thousand times and it's not helpful in this case. Some people we have talked to suggested it's no problem to get from the embassy, others say you can't.

Little background on us , Cr-1 visa, she was in china about 4 years, working visa, can't contact the agent anymore, we also got the japanese clearance she needs. It was very easy to get just popped in and got it started, but it is slow 2-3 months.

Thanks to anyone who has any info we do appreciate it. And sorry for not using that old thread, but it's really old and no one has replied on it for quite a while.

If she's not in China, there's not much she can do to get it done. Usually the agent back in China can facilitate this for an additional fee, but if she cannot get to the agent (telephone, email or they shut down) then it's almost useless. If she had a friend still working there, a PRC national, then they could dig a bit IF yer wife has scanned copies of all of her docs, but it will take some bribe monies to get it done. Then there's a notarial translation to do, as well, at a different office.

Why was that a Tos violation? The Chinese embassy in every country IS a pain to deal with, even more so in Cebu and Manila, gone around and around with them for other things in the past. Matter of fact they are not so great here in the USA either. Eh anyway, i am guessing you'll removing that also. I am just curious what TOS it violates. but he was right, We went to Cebu embassy of PRC, they said go to Manila, called them and they said they wont make it. Got a visa service in Beijing trying to get it now, even though we never lived in Bj, hopefully he can get it done, thanks for the input

None of the content you currently see violates the TOS. Only a small portion of that post violated the TOS and it was that small portion that was removed. The removed content did not answer any of your questions and its removal did not affect the overall answer that was provided to you.

It is my understanding that you, or an agent of yours, will have to go the local Public Security Bureau where you lived in China to obtain a "Certificate of No Criminal Record." This certificate is usually valid for one year. After obtaining that document, it must then be taken to a Chinese Notary Office so that it can be prepared into a Notarial Certificate (AKA White Book) format. This Notarial Certificate (AKA White Book) format is accepted by the US consulate in Guangzhou and at other US foreign service outposts throughout the world.

A legible photocopy of all pages of the Notarial Certificate (AKA White Book) should be sent to the interviewing US embassy/consulate (unless otherwise instructed). Be sure to take the original Notarial Certificate (AKA White Book) to the interview for possible comparison by the CO with the photocopy.

Can close this thread admin, and I have the police cert, but if anyone else needs one, I would be happy to share how to get it, they won't find out online unless they lived in Beijing or Shanghai respectively
