Hi could use alittle help my fiance and me are doing a k1 visa we have received our nvc case number a few days ago. We are wondering how long does it take to get the third packet so she can get her police record. She try to get it but they said she needs the checklist before she can get that paperwork. Also wondering if we can start the ds form or not. We are on a tight schedule cause her work visa for Hong Kong expires Nov 7 if she doesn't have her interview by then she has to go back to the Philippines. Any help would be very helpful we have waited so long.

*** Country-specific thread moved from K-1 Process forum to the Philippines regional subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The 3 rd packet doesn't normally arrive and if it ever does it's 3-4 months from now. So, as long as you have your MNL# then you can pay your visa fee, schedule your appointment, complete the DS160 and continue to gather your documents that are outlined in the Embassy Letter. A little ways down the calendar you can complete the medical just before the interview and then CFO.

If your asking yourself wow, how and where do I go to complete all that stuff. Use the link at the twisting arrow down below in my signature block. Go to the tab "NVC to USEM" and start at the top of the menu and follow down and then onto the next tab when ready.

There is a lot of help here so return with any questions. Good luck and welcome to the Philippines regional thread.

I'm sorry but I am not familiar with HK procedures. I heard from Hank, an expert here and he says that the HK regional thread is not much help. The best thing to do is use the search feature here (upper right hand corner) or google search. Also, go to the embassy website, they usually are quite helpful. Also, try youtube and facebook for videos from the Embassy.

HK will have a different code the Phil. It's a three letter code for the HK Embassy.

Sorry I can't be of much more help then this.

Sorry, a K-1 visa chaser is NEVER issued a checklist letter from NVC. Not Ever.

So if she is to interview in HKG, it'll be a huge problem without the IV Unit actually generating a request letter on her behalf.

Or

if she is to interview in the PI, It's another huge problem, the PI IV unit is quite slow in getting the proper request letter generated and mailed out to the Police Bureau in HKG.

Where is she to interview? PI or HKG ? your post title and post #1 makes me think she's to interview in HKG. Another caveat - if she returns to the PI after getting a K-1 visa in HKG, she cannot leave the PI without having a CFO intake, paperwork, sticker, certificate, and general blessing from the CFO office [which takes up to a month, if not more]

She is hoping to interview in Hong Kong cause that's were she is working as of right now. We were told she could do that

ah. now i am in sync. sorry for the lag.

check ceac status online with the hong kong casefile number.

when it shifts to 'ready' then they are ready at the IV Unit to go forward. It's possible to shave a week or two by

EMAILING the IV Unit there and asking for the packet 3 (don't write it as P3) to be sent to her - do this after it shifts to 'READY' status in the CEAC web portal.
