Shorter wait times per country?

Hello All,

I'm up late - my mind is racing about this lengthy, lengthy process ahead, and I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to a possibly silly question:

My fiancé is a Norwegian citizen. Since she livesin a country with a tiny case load of people coming to America, can we expect an overall quicker process (than say if she lived in Mexico for example)?

This is assuming all goes well with our application before it gets to the consulate.

Thanks much!

This hasn't been updated in awhile, but the embassy info page here lists the wait time for an interview at 1-2 months:

No, I don't think one can assume that since there is a small percentage from a certain country that the process will be shorter. It depends on which service centre you have to send your petition to and that, of course, depends on where you live.

True, but once the petition passes on to the consulate phase, there can be wide differences from country to country.

You can get an idea of the overall timeline for your case by using the "immigration timelines' link from the above blue tabs and using the fishing filter for different countries.

It also depends on their policy for interview scheduling. Mexico is backlogged one year for spousal interviews, but fiances don't need an appointment and simply show up when they are ready with their paperwork.
