Hi all, our case was closed as we are now waiting on our interview in Nicaragua. We have an approved I-601A wavier so my husband and I are in the US now and will be traveling to Nicaragua soon :))

My question is that we have to do a connecting flight, Nicaragua to Houston and Houston to Las Vegas. Houston will be the port of entry. I am trying to figure out how much time I need to allow to get through the port of entry to scheduled my flight back to Las Vegas??

Has anyone gone through the port of entry in Houston and can tell us about your experience?

Thank you!

At least 2-3 hours, no less, you will have to wait in line, get processed, pick up luggage, drop off luggage, and go through security and make it to designated departure gate, which could be in a different terminal. Processing could take from a few minutes to a an hour or two, depending on how many cases are being processed at that time.

My husband has been here in the US illegally. He has a Nicaraguan passport with no entry stamp. I am wondering if TSA will check this or if it will be an issue.
