Im still under i-130 process with USCIS, back to april 27 i went to renewal my B1/B2 visa cause my wife she was due to deliver our twins last month, however the consular officer knows that I'm intend to immigrant to US base on the I-130 filed by my wife but still we was totally understanding the situation that my wife need me as emotional and finance supportive. Anyway after long interview about 45 minutes he approved it but he gave an case number which's mean need more mandatory administrative processing before they issue the visa. My point is the consular he's human and he can understand you fiancé situation and consider it as emergency and granted him the visa, all he need to do to be honest and clear in his answers.

I concur...he should go with an open mind, that he may or may not get it

I knew someone who used skype at a funeral, the next best thing if

it can be arranged

He can only make a request to the Kingston embassy, there is nothing a Senator or Congressman can do on his behalf. There must be family members still in Jamaica, and they will be holding a 9 night celebration for the decease, this can and will be able to put his mind at ease.

Before someone jumps onboard and say there is absolutely no other family members in Jamaica, that will be a hard pill to swallow.

My condolence to the family for their loss.

Senators and congress people can absolutely try to help, and many times they are successful in doing so

I'm somewhat numb to the whole process but felt I should give an update. My fiancé was granted an expedited interview on the basis of his mom's funeral this week. They didn't want to see any of the documentation that he brought regarding her passing or arrangements. They only briefly glanced at the death certificate. The interviewer spent his time asking about his previous visa request last month. He was asked about me and our relationship, where we met, how long we've known each other (5 mo.) etc. nothing about his departed mom. Once my fiancé was given the denial slip he questioned why he was being denied. He was told "I don't believe you and your friend", that would b me) "didn't help you any when filling out the forms." I have to wonder if he was referring to the fact that I listed myself as a US relative, his fiancé, per the directions (which I think is stupid because we are not relatives as defined by US law but on this form I am). I had a feeling that I was ensuring his denial with the check of the box "fiancé" but what could I do? I'm just heartbroken and feel so guilty because I am to blame for him not being able to say goodbye to his mom. My fiancé is distraught on a multitude of levels. Not only will he not be with his other immediate family members to pay his respects to his mom, he fears deeply that our K1 Visa will suffer. He worries that he has jeopardized our chances to be granted his K1 visa. He was going on about the negative stories he's heard about the Kingston embassy. I haven't affirmed the ones I've read here on this site. The only things I feel I can do for our future K1 is 1) Be there for the interview. 2) Bring tons of photos/ documentation. 3) Be familiar with the various questions including STOKES format. I'd already planned a visit in October which I plan to keep. If anyone has any other suggestions to fortify our case/interview I would love to hear them. We expect a NOA2 relatively soon. Thank you for your guidance.

Sorry about what happened. Your proposed plan is good.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
