About ds260 and nationalities

Hello everybody!

Please can someone can Tell me what to answer on ds260?

The question about nationality and passeport so i have my fist nationality where i born and living with valid passport then i went only one Time to my origin country for vacation 12 years ago i got passport and double nationality.

So on ds260 i have to say that i have an other nationality but can't find the passport and by now is expired anyway.

So do i have to answer yes for other natinality and No if i held a passport ? It s seem stupid question but i don t want surprise after. Thank you for you Help i called NVC and the woman didn't Try to Help and told me to call back and ask a supervisor.

If you have dual citizenship then yes you have to mention both nationalities. If you got a passport from one country 12 years ago, it's probably not valid anymore. Most passports are only valid 5 to 10 years. You can easily check that on that country's embassy.

Thank you mallafri76 but I don t need to have this 2nd passeport. Can I just answer No ? If they need an explanation I can say I lost that one I only use once? Or maybe they need to verified my passport even it s expired? The only travel that I made those last 7 years was in US.

The thing is that it doesn't matter if you need the second passport or not, it's the fact that it's been issued. In my opinion, if the passport has expired, you answer no to the question if you hold a passport from that country. If the passport is still valid, you have to answer yes to the question.

Mallafri76 good news for me I called my mom she is the one who kept my passport I was 18 the last time I used. So I have but it s expired anyway. So even it s expired I think I have to put passport type and Id number..
